37 1/2 weeks BH contractions? labor? or just cramps?

I am just curious if contractions always have to tense up your uterus at the onset of labor? i have been getting menstrual like cramps for about an hour now off and on at about 5 min apart and they are getting a little more uncomfortable as time goes on I'm doing nothing but laying in bed on the computer so its not due to any activity.

My dr wants me to go into labor asap because if you were to look at me you would think i am only 5-6 months pregnant cuz i am TINY! but i have a 7 lb baby in there. He also said i might not make it til the 8th (my due date).

Has anyone experienced contractions without the strong tensed feeling because those are just occasional.

Yeah i went in and they said im most likely in early labor but that can last a while before i will go into real labor. my contractions are close all the time. I will get about 8-10 an hour when i get the contractions and i guess i get them when i dont even know i am my dr says the only way i will know if im in labor is how painful they are since i already have frequency and they last a long time. Its all very confusing to me

well I am a ftm and I have been having bh every 20 minutes for the last 3 days sometimes they are uncomfortable but for the most part I don't notice them, I know my doctor said if I get 5 or more in an hour to call because I may be in early labor so if yours are close I would call.... My mum said her contraction never bothered her until her water broke then they became very very uncomfortable

I wish I could help you. But, I do know if the pains are timable and consistant its worth a call to L&D. Try taking a warm bath if they ease of then it's just BH. Keep us posted!
