Mine came back high risk so I had the amnio test, which although painful has come back negative. We know now for certain that the baby is fine but the emotions you go through especially whilst waiting isn't nice and unfortunately they couldn't get the fluid on the first try so I had to have it done again a week later. It's up to each individual but personally we wanted to be prepared for the future and also make the right choice for our baby future.
Many woman test positive for the down syndrome test.....85% of those woman fall into the false positive. This is why these tests is optional. My doctor told me if I didn't have any family history of birth defects that I didn't need to be tested but if I wanted the test I could have it! I did have them ran but on my end everything came back fine. I know my best friend opted to not have them done because she didn't want to stress over the fact that she could not do anything if it came back positive....that she would ultimately blame herself for passing the gene onto her baby...basicly beat herself up over it! So in tje end its ultimately is your choice. Best of luck dear!
I just had a quad screen, and results are low. You have to keep in mind they represent the likelihood, NOT the certitude your baby could have down or other syndromes.
