30 weeks & 5days pregnant

I am 30 weeks and 5 days i have been having preterm contractions since 22weeks, so bad that the terbutaline shots did not work and they sent me home on Procardia XL and bedrest. The contractions are still ongoing and we have yet to figure out why as i see my OBGYN weekly to keep track of my contractions and my shortening cervix which has been at a stable 80% for about a month.
For the past 2 weeks i have been having these menstral like cramps which  do not feel like the contractions ( which is a tightening and releasing of my abdominal muscles, and i have gotten so used to these that i barely even notice them). These cramps are really uncomfortable and last from 3min -1hr and come and go anywhere from 30min  to 3hrs apart. I have tried taking tylenol which doesn't help and i have yet to complain to my OBGYN yet because everytime i have pains or contractions she tells me to drink water and to lay on my left side which i am sick to death of because this does not work all it does is make my left side sore and me have to use the bathroom 10x more.

I am a FTM and i do not know the signs of labor other than checking to see if im bleeding or if my water breaks which neither has happened.

Has or is this happening to anyone?

I know the DR. Keeps telling me my cervix is still closed just mildly short and that i should just stay on bedrest and drink lots of water but even while doing so im receivng these problems. I just feel like he is going to come early and soon it's so bad that i have started to put his nursery together  because i just  know he is not going to make it until his due date i just have this feeling.

I am so frustrated with all these uncomfortable symptoms and worrying for my baby, if someone could give me some insight on what you think is happening  or if this is common i would really appreciate it,  it would prompt me to go to L&D or ease my mind.

Anyone?

I'd honestly go to labor and delivery if you're that worried about it. Don't let something go that is consistently haunting and worrying you. NOBODY would listen to me and then 26 weeks I went in to labor and delivery and it was a good thing because I was in preterm labor, ended up dilated, and they've already so far kept me in the hospital for a month now and are keeping me for at least another two weeks, meanwhile being here had nobody listened or had I been sent home my cervix is completely gone now. I'm fully thinned out and my cervix is so short its not even measurable. If you don't think something is right you tell them. Only you will know best. They put me on magnesium to stop labor again, only days ago and nobody wanted to believe I was even having contractions that day. Even the nurses can act like they don't listen or don't believe you. So keep pleading the way you feel, I've been right the several times I've had the instinct that something was wrong or going to happen. In fact just before they put me on the magnesium I said "I feel like he's going to be on his way, relatively soon, and I have a gut feeling that something is about to happen" had they not listened and put me on magnesium the contractions I had only a couple hours later clear until the next day would have caused delivery. They were strong and intense and only getting longer lasting and stronger. And were five minutes apart. Luckily because they listened, I didn't even dilate further. Go get yourself checked up on, it won't hurt anything, and will only put you at ease.
