Induction

I'm being induced today I'm nervous because I don't know what to expect I went into labor naturally with my other two children .

Sorry, stupid phone. Have a fall-back plan in case you change your mind. Stadol was my backup. Good luck!

I've never gone into labor naturally so I can't compare, but I can tell you that different methods make a difference. Cervadil gave me a long labor, lots of back pain and dull, but strong and long, contractions. Pitocin gave me 12 hours of mild contractions until my doctor broke my water. Then I had 2 1/2 hours of increasingly painful and sharp contractions. I am so thankful it was a short labor!

I did both labors without an epidural, and this second one was over before my Stadol kicked in. I would never blame or look down on anyone for getting an epidural, especially after this second labor. But I wanted a natural labor for the sake of avoiding an intervention cascade and ending up in the OR getting a cesarean. Be ready with - and let your labor nurse know - a plan for pain relief and a fsll-bavk in
