As one person comment above, I believe I am getting induce simply because that's just what the doctor wants, supposedly, she induces to ensure she will be there to deliver. But now that someone else said it, I think it's mostly for the comfort of the doctor. Because she has me coming in on the 9th at 8:30pm to start the induction and then she will come back in the morning to start the pitocin. I honestly don't want to be induce, but I feel like I have no choice other than hoping I'll go into labor naturally. I'm currently 37+5, so I'll be exactly 39 weeks on induction day.
Will be induced at 37wks next week. Now I wish I was in a situation where I could happily wait for labor naturally, so that he had more time in the womb. However they found that he has growth restrictions and no clear cause as everything appears to be functioning and working the way it's supposed to; but little man isn't growing at the rate he's supposed to.
That being said my doctor and the specialist explained they have to assume it is some issue with the placenta. Doing so if we wait longer we risk the placenta not providing enough oxygen and fetal distress before I go into labor naturally. So because 37wks is full term and complications of induction would be minimal, that was determined the safest course of treatment.
I m having the same wuestion, why are people being induced other than medical or emergency situation. I saw my dr. Today and started telling me he wants to induce me nxt Friday on my due date. He already told the hospital. I told him no, that's 1. it's my b day and second why, my son was induced too but a week later. My friend told my me today, some rather induce since its on their schedule and not get that midnight call to come in. So For now My Induction is scheduled for the 10th. Hoping to come beginning nxt week.
I got induced due to my blood pressure. Not by choice.
Ill be 39 weeks next week & getting induced oonly bbecause my son aalready weighs 7lbs & because my body is so small.
