MY LABOR story...

Pretty long but here I go...so because of my baby measuring in at 7pnd 14oz back in June and my due date being 07/29 my obgyn were no longer able to do approximate weight estimates for baby going forward. There fore I could only assume based upon growth pattern that baby would be bigger than average as due date approached.I opted for an elective c section. Only because at 39 almost 40 weeks I had to make a decision induce from 0 cent and be in labor possibly for 24-36 hours waiting on labor to pick up, or a c.section. Well I chose c section becauae honestly I fealt I did not have to experience the pains of labor to have my baby. So at my dr appointment which was on a Thursday I was hoping to schedule my c section for the next day which was Friday. Obgyn adv they had no openings until the next Tuesday which was 08/04. I knew I would be fine until then because at 40 weeks I was still 100% not dilated. Welp came that Saturday I lost my mucus plug and that's when I started to get scared. So rest of that day Saturday no signs of labor I was like oh I'm good this baby not gone send me in labor before c section tuesday. Next thing I know its Sunday five a.m and some type of pain has woken me out my sleep. Then the pain kept coming every 10-12 minutes, yup im in labor. For next few hours I timed contractions they were stronger every 5-7 minutes. I grabbed my family headed to hospital after being checked they sent me home and said take Tylenol for pain..haaaa. FYI Tylenolso doesnt stop a labor pain. So for the next 18 hours I'm in straight interval pain before I get fed up again and pack the family back to hospital. They adv half a finger tip dilated this time, and sent me home AGAIN but this time with an Ambien too help me sleep. Haaaaa! Another FYI Ambien does not stop labor pains! So it's going on 24 hours of labor and no sleep, I'm beyond being preggo at this point and actually called my semi truck driving friend to run me over, he declined of course. So here it is Monday I'm still in labor and excited about my c section on the next day not knowing that by time I had my c.section on Tuesday I was gone be able to tell people yes I went through 52 hours of labor before I had my baby! Yes folk 52 hours straight of LABOR and exhaustion. To be all the way honest I chose the c section not just because I thought baby would be at least a 9 pounder and not fit but also to avoid labor. And I still went through labor. Oh and ladies btw my baby was 11 pounds even, born on 08/04 baby boy Jonah. And he is the love and the talk of the nursery and 11pounds of straight cuteness and I'm in love. My dr told me I don't know why u chose elective c section but im.glad u did because you would not be able to pee right for next 50 years if u didnt lol. Hope u enjoyed this long as life post about my labor and congrats to all you mothers and soon to b moms out there! Our babies are worth every drop of pain!

Congratulations! I'm glad you chose a csection too, I had enough issues just pushing out a 7lbs 11 oz baby! Can't even imagine what it would have been like trying to push out 11lbs!
