Placental encapsulation

Have any of you mamas tried or considered doing it? My doula highly recommends it. Haven't quite decided how I feel about it yet. Thoughts?

It's a process where they steam, dehydrate, and grind the placenta after birth and put it into pills. You basically take it like a vitamin. There haven't been any official studies on the benefits, but it's said to help reduce postpartum depression feelings, help with hormone regulation, milk supply, and iron levels. I was just curious if anyone else had done it or was thinking about doing it.

I'll be encapsulating my placenta this time around. It is supposed to be a very effective natural remedy for PPD.
