Smoking While Breastfeeding???

Just wondering if it's ok? If any other moms did.  I plan on breastfeeding my baby but I am also a Marijuana user. My dr is aware of my use and she says it doesn't effect my baby. I've used it throughout my pregnancy due to severe nausea and pain. I'm due in 8 days and I'm worried. I live in Washington state where it's legal.
Also I'm wondering if they'll call CPS in the hospital after I have her.

Agh i read an article on this (it was on bith tobacco and marijuana i believe) a while back, but i'm not 100% on what it said. I do believe i read that the baby gets affected by the drugs (some components get in the milk), but no severe long term effects and no addiction. The point was that breast milk even in this situation is better than no breast milk (benefits are higher), but the milk of non-smokers will be healthier. So, for baby, not smoking is best, but if you must, it is still best to breastfeed. Don't smoke in the presence of your baby or the room he/she will be staying tho, best go outside to smoke.

I don't think CPUs will get involved. I live in Washington too I go to federal way hospital and I've asked because I live with weed smokers and so I asked because I was scared and they said they rent concerned with weed and doctors don't check for it when they come out because they show no withdrawal symptoms. That's what I was told by my midwife I'm not saying it's all true everywhere but where I go here in Washington it's what I've been told.

Well have you tried not smoking it to see if you can actually substain being without it? Anything you put in your body that causes you to feel differently physically, mentally, or even emotionally affects your baby, regardless of what anyone says.
If you live in Washington, where it's legal, no CPS shouldn't get involved.

So it's ultimately your choice to put that stuff in your body and your babys body. Don't get me wrong, I used to smoke on a regular before, I'm not against it or anything. I just personally don't agree with it during pregnancy and breastfeeding. Just seems selfish, hope you don't get offended.
