Strange feeling

Up until 39 weeks i felt pretty good, comfortable in my skin. I did have a few not so fun symptoms (acid reflux, swollen feet, ...), but i felt like my body was my own.

But then a week ago the prep switch got turned on, and i guess hormones changed or so. My belly got hard, baby dropped, i get more braxton hicks, some pain down there, nausea, throwing up, dizziness, fatigue, sleepiness, heavy legs, numb belly skin ... All at once.
I've been walking around like this for a week now (longer than gyn expected), and i have been feeling like my body isn't my own anymore, i don't recognise it. My belly doesn't feel comforting anymore when i rub it, it just feels... weird. Anyone else feels so disconnected from their body the last week(s) of their pregnancy? I'm just past 40 weeks, and i do feel like the baby can come any minute now.

Yeah he moves a lot, that's what keeps my spirits up a bit atm. My baby is healthy as far they can tell, heartrate is great, enough fluid still etc. I went for a check-up yesterday. Because there has been no progress since last week, despite my constant hard bellies, baby dropped etc, they plan to induce me Thursday. That is much faster than i expected, but this past week has been so exhausting (i've also been nauseous, throwing up, etc) that i don't mind actually. I hope he comes natural still tho, but atleast i know it won't be to much longer.

Have you talked to your doctor about this? It sounds odd to me, is baby still moving like normal?
