Ladies,

Thank you-,

I did jave a raging kidney infection at 32 wks preg (my second pregnancy).  Often pregnant women are asymptomatic when they have a UTI.  So the infection takes the opportunity to migrate up the ureters and into tbe kidneys.  What I thought was 3rd trimester backache, soon became much more. It is called Pyelonephritis.  The pain would hit in debitating spasms.  I wouldnt be able to stand up straight, but would be hunched forward.  Then came the nausea, fevers, waves of dizziness, my whole body ached, and I started shaking in pain.  My husband took me to the hospital where they catheterized me to pull out a sterile urine sample to send to the lab.  The nurses could see the puss floating in the tube of urine and admitted me immediately.  I was in the hospital on 2 days of IV antibiotics, very powerful stuff.  But it brought me back from the edge of kidney failure, sepsis, and pre-term labor, as my body was in severe distress.
All that from a simple urinary tract infection that went undiagnosed becaise pregnancy can mask the symptoms until it has already migrated to the kidneys.  I'm currently expecting #4, and am now 33 weeks.  Ive been taking cranberry tablets to promote urinary health because I certainly don't want any part of pyelonephritis again!

I was checked into the hospital for a kidney infection and that was when I found out I was even pregnant in the first place! Weird thing is , it all starts with a urinary tract infection. I didn't even know that you could have one of those without feeling the burning sensation when you pee, because I definitely did not feel it. But if you're peeing constantly and barely anything is coming out then I would seriouly suggest seeing your doctor. I'm lucky I went in when I did. My white blood cell coun t was 18 and the norm is 10. I was told that it could have seriously affected me and my baby! Good luck!

I'm 33 weeks with my first and I recently just finished medication of antibiotics from my doctor that prescribed them to me 2 days ago and took them for a week every 6 hours, my doctor had called me and told me I had an infection they found in my urine that was bacteria, this is the 2nd time this has happened and my doctor had mentioned to me that if it continues to come back it could lead me to Kinsey infection. I didn't know I had an infection or realize I even did, my doctor had mentioned that I probably didnt even realize I had an infection and neither felt the symptoms that came with it. But if it continues to come back my doctor told me it increases the chances of having my daughter premature, I'm due august 6th hoping and praying everything runs smoothly and I pray the best for you, your not alone I'm sure many women are going through similar situations like us. Don't stress or over think yourself if you have any questions just give your doctor a call on anything they will help you :), I wish and pray the best for you.

I was just diagnosed with one early this morning. If you're peeing too much or have to go every 30 seconds it seems, go in! I had major back pain last night and ended up going to the er by midnight. Trust me, it's better for a doctor to diagnose you first before it gets to bad.
