Overwhelmed

Hey ladies, I was wondering if anyone other than myself feels overwhelmed with figuring out what is truly needed? I started getting a baby registry together but we don't have a lot of room for everything. I feel so lost with picking out what is truly needed. We are both first time parents and have no clue what we are doing. My family is just like you need this this and this and everything in the store. I just feel like I am going to miss something we truly need. Help!!!

We named our son after his great grandfather. It means so much to grandma that we named our first son Johnathan William

Oh, wow, our due dates are pretty similar. Mine is august 18. I hope it stays like this... My first son Noah was supposed to come at may 18,2015, but instead he came 3 months early at February 22... :/

You're lucky you know the gender already. Mine didn't want to show till now :D
Jonathan is such a cute name <3
We're hoping for a Joseph :)

We are in the same boat right now. Live in a 1 bdrm and don't plan to move for at least a year or two. I've been reading blogs/articles about having a baby in a small space, and the overarching message/advice is don't get too much stuff, borrow items (like a swing/bouncy chair) and get travel size/compact when possible. My sister overbought and now their space is packed with stuff! luckily that means I can borrow a few things. :)

Hi,don't let other ppl or especially the media let you getting confused over this. In from Germany and my hubby is from Egypt and his sisters there had non of the stuff for their babies that we had here.
Forgive me that i don't have the vocab to write everything correctly, but I'll try to describe it. We didn't have much space either,  so in the beginning, before we moved,  we had a bed for our son (70×140 cm), a board to put over the bed to change the diapers (you can find those on ebay), a bunch of those spitting 'towels', 5 bodies and pants (those overalls are completely unpractical), some socks, 2 icecaps, a warm overall for outside (of course depending on the weather), 2 sleeping bags (no pillows!), 2 of those things to put around the mattress, 2 of those protective things for the mattress in case the baby spits in bed or pee comes out of the pampy. A (in German) Kinderwagen... sorry,  if I go out of this app to check for vocab it deletes what i wrote...
Then we had this carrying 'cloth', you know in order to carry the baby in front of your chest. A blanket for the Kinderwagen and Dr. Appointments. Of you wanna breastfeed i would recommend a good breastfeed-pillow to you. Mine is called "my breast friend" :'D they had this in the hospital and it's really great. If you don't intend to breastfeed you'll need a bottle. Those milk warmers ate not really necessary if you have a microwave... then a thermobottle is good when you're outside to make the milk ready. Hmmmm... a yes, a babyphone to feel safer when you're not in the same room with the baby. I only say ebay ebay ebay... and about the clothes: we have mostly used clothes that you can also buy pretty cheap on ebay and they look like new. Of course as a mum you wanna have some things new for your baby, but they are growing so fast that it's only a waste of money to buy everything new. And of course you'll need diapers (the cheap ones are as good as the expensive, and honestly:they make poo in this and you throw it away...), and those wet tissues for cleaning. A good cream for baby's cute butt <3
I think that's pretty much all...
