Speed up early labour??

I'm currently 38+3 with second baby, have been losing bits of my plug for a few weeks but yesterday had a real bloody show and the plug is now coming away in HUGE amounts.
Was admitted to hospital last night as was having contractions every 5 minutes, however nothing has come of it so I've come home.
I'm currently 3/4cm dilated but my cervix isn't fully effaced yet and everything is progressing very slowly.
Any advice to speed things up?
Not sure how much longer I can take the back pains and pressure down below if nothing is progressing....

Thanks ladies, I'm now 4-5cm and fully effaced however I'm just not having regular contractions.
Cervix is all ready to go, baby is very low with bulging waters. Just need these contractions to kick off properly....

I was 3 cm at 36 weeks and 3-4 at 37 weeks but I was not effaced at all I was told. I had my baby 5days later(38weeks) with 3hours of active labor and 5mn of pushing and it was my 2nd as well. I was eating at least one pineapple and mango everyday the last week with some dates. I am pretty sure it helped which is why my labour was sooo short. I was using EPO since week 35 tho and I had no tear with no epidural. I hope I answer your question, good luck.

I've heard some say that Evening Primrose works and you can take it by mouth and vaginally.
