There is a forum on here that you will find very useful right now, here's the link to what sort of thing to write in your Birth Plan;

The easiest answer is just call HER and ask. I mean no offense, but when she asked you to write your birth plan, why didn't you ask her then what she meant? If this was your first meeting with your midwife, I can understand why you may have hesitated, but if there is one person in this whole world that you need to be completely open and honest with, it's your midwife. By the time you are due, she will be your best friend, the one person you trust more than anyone. Never hesitate to discuss anything with her. Never be afraid that she will think you're stupid or naive. I'm assuming this is your first pregnancy? Know one thing, for 99.9% of us having our first baby, we ARE stupid and naive, no matter how much you read or how many classes you attend, you have no idea what it's like until you're in the thick of it.

Perhaps things have changed in the 30 years since I had a midwife and made a birth plan, but mine wanted me to write down how I wanted my labor and delivery to be. Did I want to be in the hospital or at home? How did I feel about drugs? Was I hoping for a drug free birth? Would I accept drugs or was I really adamant about NO DRUGS? Did I want to wear a nightgown or did I want to be totally naked? Who did I want with me? Who did I absolutely NOT want with me? Did I want music or not?

I know there was quite a bit more than that, but it's been awhile and I've forgotten a lot of it. Just ask her. Then the two of you will go over it and as your pregnancy progresses, you'll add things, or change your mind. It's a way for your midwife to get some understanding of what you expect, hope for........it will tell her alot about you, and as you discuss your plan together, you will come to know (and trust) her.

I bet if you Googled "midwife birth plan" or some variation of that, you'll find some examples of birth plans.
Also remember that a birth plan is not etched in stone. You can change your mind any time you want to..........nobody is going to force you to "follow the plan!"
Best wishes

what a birth plan is, is an outline or a guide to what you woulod like to happen during your labour and birth. They are usful as then the midwife can get an idea of the type of birth you would like, so if you wanted an epidural, you would put that in etc, they are important if you would like to try a natural drug free birth, then the midwives wont ask you if you would like pain relief etc they will worth with you suggesting different labour/birth positions for you to try, also remember it is a guide only and alot of the times they fly out the window
