100% natural both times w/ 1st being a 9.1lb baby.
I wasn't induced or given any type of drugs.
It was a beautiful experience. I hope you find your perfect plan. (water birth w/ second child was super relief)

I was induced with pitocin. It was HORRIBLE they say it magnifies contractions. But i got an epi after around 20 hours in labor and still have back problems because it was ripped out of my back when it was caught on the sheet. I managed contractions amazingly until my body started to get too exhausted. I got stadol and another med when i couldnt stand the pain anymore. But this time i am trying to find other pain management methods (no stadol no epi)

My 1st is 8 years old now and I had planned to go natural. Ended up being induced with a horrible drug called pitocen and around 5-6 cm I thought I was dying and they gave me an epidural. After the epidural I felt so good I took a 45 minute nap and woke up and pushed 3 times and she was out. I also had an episiotomy so I'm thankful for the epidural. I was also in hard labor with pitocen for 23 hours before my epidural. The Dr said since I had the epidural and could relax it helped me dilate. This time I'm due in June and if I'm not induced I will go natural, plus I hear 2nd labors aren't as bad. If I am induced or feel like I'm dying again I will get an epidural. Good luck! Congratulations

Thank you ladies :) I want to do my best to continue with my plans for a natural birth. I've heard some very positive things overall and I do plan to do birthing classes to help me better prepare for my first little one :)

My daughter is now 11 but I had a natural birth with her. I have had back problems since I was 19 and I told the gals at the hospital "no way in hell are you sticking anything in my back" lol. I took a cpl relaxation classes (meditation and focusing) a cpl weeks before labor. I was determinded to have her natural. I put my mind to it, focused and had a great birthing experience. I will def do it again. If you have a very low pain tolerance and easily distracted.... You may concered a med or epideral. Best wishes to you, hun!

I didn't request an epidural until I was between 7 and 8cm dilated. I probably could have had a natural delivery, but she was my first baby and I was scared and didn't know how bad or what to expect. I'm glad I did get the epidural because I tore pretty badly and needed an episiotomy.

My next pregnant I will get the epidural sooner so that I can rest better. There's no harm in trying to go for a natural birth and keeping an open mind to the epidural if you need it.
