stupid 1 hour glucose test!

I took my one hour test today. I have been sooooo sick this pregnancy. It's been really miserable!

So I tried to drink the vile orange flavoured liquid. I really did. I kept getting kind of sick while drinking it, vomited a small amount, waited a little and then drank the rest. I got to the parking lot at the doctors office and WHAM totally vomited ALL OVER MYSELF. Came out of nowhere. So now I'm sitting in the parking lot trying to figure out what to do. Do I go in the office with vomit all over my shirt and explain I tried really hard to keep it down? Do I go home, get changed and reschedule and try to drink it again? I went in. They said they would draw my blood anyway.

202. What the hell is that all about? It was over 200 AFTER I vomited most of it up? Ugh.

I see my perinatologist next week, but if they want me to do the three hour test, there's no way. I can't eat extra carbs for three days! I cant eat practically anything! I cant eat bread because I had a lap band done in Feb 07, so that's out. and drink twice as much of the stuff? no way. He told me to keep taking the zofran for nausea (which I do and it doesn't work well).

I lost 5 lbs at this appt, too.

Ugh. I can't wait for this pregnancy to be over! Only 12 more weeks to go!

I go to my perinatologist tomorrow and will talk to him about it.

mysty2001 -- if you only drank 1/4 of it how can you expect accurate results? did you tell your doctor that?

I drank maybe 1/4 and i was about 1/2 hour late drinking it\my results must have been OK

I have the occasional piddle-when-I-vomit problem too! Ugh!

My glucose came back at 141, so I dont know why the blood sugar check on the glucometer was so high...

I got my results quickly cause I am a nurse and looked them up myself when I got to work tonight!

i took mine too last visit but i never got my results!  did u get yours right away?!

When I had to do the 3 hour test I had to drink double the amt. of that stuff......And the worst part was that I was starving to death by the end of the 3 hours and was shaking...it stinks.....
I hear ya too about being sick all the time!  I had the dry heaves so bad yesterday that I piddled my pants!  AHHH!  Yuck!!!!

I failed mine too, but i only got a 144.  The 3 hour test you dont have to drink more, and it didnt taste any worse than the first time you drank it.  I hope you dont have to do the 3 hour one either, but if you do its gonna be the same drink.  they just poke you 4 times instead.  Im just waiting my results on my 3 hour test and we will see how that goes!

I failed mine too, I got 157 and now I have to take the 3 hour....
