14 weeks 4 days....first trimester? Huh?
My little ticker says I'm 14 weeks and 4 days....which is correct. But then under Trimester it says "First". I've been saying I'm in my second now that I'm 14 weeks....so am I lying to everyone? LOL I thought after 13 weeks was over one was officially in their 2nd trimester. Am I wrong? Thanks for any input.
From all the books I read its week 13. (the 14th week) So as Jennv04 said 13 day 0 and on is 2nd trimester.
I just spoke with my Ob and she said that it is 'weeks 14'. Meaning 13 weeks pregnant you enter your 14th week. So after 13w 0d you are in the second trimester.
Hmm, I'm not sure. Maybe it is just a mistake on MedHelp. Also, sometimes different places consider the second trimester at 13 weeks and some at 14 weeks.
Well im going with 13 weeks lol, im 13 weeks today and it sounds nice to say im in my second trimester! =D
Yeah it is kind of confusing. Even if you count it off every 4 weeks you're not even counting lunar months. Lunar months are about 29.53 days, not 28.
10 lunar months is 42 weeks (and at least another few days)
9 lunar months is slightly less than 38 weeks.
10 actual months (not including Feb) is 43 and a half weeks
9 actual months (again not inc. Feb) is a day or two over 39 weeks
Since the majority of pregnancies go OVER 40 weeks (calculating to 41 weeks is more accurate than 40) I'd say 10 lunar months is the closest you're going to get to the length of a true human pregnancy.

waitin838~~~I'm not sure how other drs go about counting the months but what I did and what my OB did with DS was, week 1-4 is month 1 week 5-8 is month 2, and so on and so on, since we're pregnant 40 weeks, we technically are pregnant 10 months, and not 9, so at the end of it 37-40 weeks I just say 9 months, even though it's technically the 10th month. So right now I'm 14w6d, so I consider myself 4 months and at 17 weeks I'd start month 5...so I'd say you're 6 months, about to hit 7 at 25 weeks...it just makes more sense to me that way since 4 weeks is a month, give or take a day or two since Feb is the only month with exactly 4 weeks in it, but we're not going by months we're going by 40 weeks...I hope that makes sense to you too.

I too kept looking at my tracker wondering why it said 1st! I thought after the 3rd month we moved into the 2nd trimester. I wanted to see second on my tracker too !

my ob told me that the second trimester started at 13 weeks....3rd trimester starts at 28 weeks....it is confusing but here's some more confusion....has anybody noticed the month of preg
im 24 weeks today which would mean im 6 months but i have read that 6 months goes from 22-26 weeks....so am i 6 1/2 months?

Yeah, I always thought it was the end of 12 wks, then the more I read it was end of 13 wks. I am 15 wks today and the ticker finally switched to 2nd trimester!
Once you finish the 14th week and start the 15th, the ticker will say second trimester. ^_^
My dr told me 13 weeks starts the second trimester. I see that the tracker says 1st trimester but if you look at

Most medical sources say 14w0d is the start of the second trimester. I'd message medhelp and ask them what's up.
I'm 14 weeks and 4 days as well lol!! I know how you feel and did some research - apparantly some ppl consider 12 weeks the second, some consider 13 weeks, some consider 14 weeks, some consider 15 weeks and some consider 16 weeks!! I know that my doc. considers 13 weeks the second trimester I waited until I was about 13 1/2 weeks to claim it!! I so wanted to see second tri on my ticker too!!
