Announcing the arrival of the "Oey" twins

Good day ladies!!

Just wanted to share with you that my daughters arrived this past Monday 12/6/10. My due date was 12/29 and my scheduled csec was for 12/15. However I developed Cholestasis of pregnancy. I had major ichiness all over my body. When my body temp raised so did the itchiness. My OB had me due blood work last Friday. On Monday of this week I had my NST apppointment and came home afterwards to work from home. At 1:30pm my OB called and asked if I wanted to meet my daughters that day. My liver was/is not processing bile correctly and it's getting into my blood stream. In turn it gets into the girls bloodstream. My Peri and OB felt it was best to get the girls out.

By 3:30 DH checked in to L&D. Girls were born at 9:26 and 9:27pm. Zoey weighed 4.12 lbs and Khloey weighed 5.2 lbs. Both were 17.5" in length. I loved having a csec. No pain no complains and I was able to converse with surgeons and peds during delivery. The EPI did not hurt at all highly recommend. Recovery is going well I started walking around since yesterday.

The girls are great but the growth scans were completely off from what was actual. At this time I'm having to supplement with formula since I'm not producing enough colostrom and the girls are hungry. The girls get sugar test done every six hours.

We should all be going home this Friday.

Thank you ladies for your continued support and at times mental distraction from life. I've been a member since DH started our infertily treatments until the present day. I've had sone really high dats and some very low ones but the board has always been the place I turn for support. THank you and can't wait to hear your baby story.

Thanks WannaBmamma!! How wonderful that you got to take them home after only 3 days in the hospital. Were you able to take them home that Friday? I was worried that ours would need to stay in the hospital for a bit longer if they were under 5 lbs. Your post has relieved a lot of my fears but I know all babies/situations are different. Congrats on your precious little girls!!

Hey girl... CONGRATS!!!! So glad you had a good birth experience and recovery is going good. For my fellow twin mommas, may I suggest a diastis rehab splint to help hold the abdomen in and support your back? LOVE IT... it's really helping me out in my postpartum recovery. The babies are beautiful and so glad everyone is healthy, especially given the early delivery. Yeah, you're a momma! Now get some rest!!! ;)

During my last growth scan I was told baby A was 6.5 lbs and Baby B was 6.2 lbs.  The real numbers were baby A 4 lbs 12 oz and Baby B 5 lbs 2 oz.  More than one pound of atleast on each.  My OB said the calculations are not reliable- well I can confirm that. I hope that helps!

Congrats on your twins!! How much did they say the babies weighed while in your tummy? I have heard of other woman saying that the weights were way off as well. I'm just curious because mine are only 2.9 lbs and 3.9 lbs at 31 weeks. Glad everything went well and you will all be going home soon!!
