Chances of...

As some of you know I have had 3 M/C and am a nervous reck this time.  I am 10.5 weeks and just had an ultrasound and baby was fine. Heartbeat was 175.  Does anyone know stats on how much your chances of a M/C drop once you reach a certain week and a heartbeat?  I don't want to rent a doppler yet.  I feel like I will be jinxing myself.

I'm so sorry about your three previous losses.  There's nothing anyone can ever say to make it better, I know.  I've had two, myself, and it's an awful thing.  I understand the worry.  I didn't want to buy anything for this pregnancy because the first time (after having two normal pregnancies and babies) I went out and got books and clothes right away and m/c 3 days later.  With the second I just bought magazines, then m/c.
This time I waited and waited until about 7 or 8 weeks when I just decided to buy the WTEWYE book.  I actually read in it that "many doctors wait until after 8 weeks to make your first appointment because the chance of miscarriage decreases".  Just reading that was so much hope for me.  I thought it was 12 weeks for the chance to start decreasing.
I have read the heartbeat starts at around 3-4 weeks but can't be heard until around 5-6 weeks, and I know a lot of people who've miscarried after that.
I'm know the feeling of worry and wait up to (and beyond) 12 weeks.  I think 10.5 weeks is a great milestone, though.  You're almost there!
I have been worried about every little feeling I get and finally got to 14 weeks.  So far so good, but still worry just not as much.
I hope that the next week and a half will go by quick for you and maybe give you an added sense of relief.  I'm finding that as I get past the 12 week mark, all of the sudden the weeks are going faster.
Best of luck with your pregnancy!

Thank you so much!  Yeah, I have not bought anything.  I should be buying clothes but can't until I hit the 12-13 week mark.  I was even hesitant to join this web site. I had joined others in the past and like your experience... I had the M/C.  I have never felt so anxious.  Thank you again your words made me feel better.
