Zoe is 9 1/2 months. She has six teeth. She pulls herself up and can even stand on her own, but she has no interest in cruising yet. She can crawl up stairs and is very fast, so we spend a lot of time chasing her. She can say dada, mama, hi and bye. She babbles a lot and sings. She waves, claps, high fives, covers her face for peekaboo and is starting to throw kisses. She is also very into her toys and easily figures out how to make things work--pushing buttons, fitting shapes in her shape sorter, etc. Food is not going so well. She has no interest in progressing past pureed foods, beyond Puffs and Cheerios. If I don't make her food completely smooth, she will mush it around in her mouth and spit out the lumps. She is very good with her sippy cup (water). I can only assume her aversion to lumpy food is due to her emerging teeth. Overall, she is an extremely good-natured and happy baby. And she is a awesome sleeper...
Iris hasn't tried to take steps on her own yet. She sometimes 'walks' along the table but mostly crawls around. She knows mama and dada but most of what she says is babbling :)) SIze-wise she's average, at 9 months she was 18.5 lbs and 27 inches. She has 6 teeth now, 4 on top and 2 on the bottom and can take bites off of pretty much anything so we are careful with what we give her. She can 'chew' and loves finger food but for meals she still mostly prefers purees. I've mixed in rice, lentils and barley in her foods to introduce more texture and she eats it but not very enthusiastically. Lately she's been copying anything we do and she gives lots of kisses and waves at everyone, including the dog :)))
I wouldn't give her peas anymore, when she's older you can get allergy testing done, or for the one year blood draw ask if they can do it then. Elijah is allergic to peas but we had him tested at 3, he has to go back at 5 instead of the normal 11 to have more testing done.
I have a food processer that I put food we eat into and blend up and I give it to Aubryana that way. She only has one tooth but she can eat bread (cut up) with a little butter on it. I give her pretty much anything we eat but I make sure to put some aside before I season it. I have given her things with a little salt on them, once she had garlic butter noodles, but there was hardly any garlic. I give her anything that will disolve or kinda "melts" in her mouth, ie a vanilla cookie. She loves whole food instead of mashed, and I even bought the Gerber meat sticks, I peel the "skin" 'off it because she can't chew it, but the inside is pretty mushy...she loves them. I just cut it up really small, and then peel the "skin" off and give her a couple pieces at a time.
Lexi took three steps the other day and face planted into the carpet and hasn't been brave enough to try again since. She say Mama, Dada, Daddy, hi, hey, baby, and what sounds like yeah. Last week I took her in for the croup and her asthma issues and with her clothes, jacket, and shoes on...she weighed 18lbs 15 ounces. I just don't see where she's gained a pound in a month, but I'm sure it's possible. She's 30.5" tall, and still only has her two bottom teeth. She's crawling around super fast and is standing and cruising. Once she gets more confidence, I'm sure she'll try to take a few more steps again. She's refusing to eat baby food now and it's hard trying to transition into eating food that we eat, because I'm just really worried and unsure what she can eat. We're down to three or four bottles a day depending on her mood. She won't drink anything else during the day from her sippy, so it's been a nightmare trying to get her to drink water from it.
I tried to give her peas again and her legs, arms, and part of her belly broke out in welts this time. Same thing happened when I gave her a puree baby food with pineapple in it.
