umm... embarrassing question..

Frankly, I'm really embarrassed to ask this, but I'm just curious about what it could be. I'm 37weeks and 5 days. I'm one centimeter dilated and I've been having sharp stabbing vaginal pains that come and go. I understand that for some women, that is part of the process. Understandable. But today, I got sharp stabbing pains in my rectum.. Is that something that happens during pregnancy? First time mom here. I don't see my o.b. till Tuesday. What would cause it? It only lasted like 30-60 seconds, stopped, then happened again. But now it has stopped. I tried sitting up, laying down, and repositioning myself, but it didn't help. Just had to wait for it to stop.

I'm 39w + 4d. I've been having that pain since I was about 37 weeks. I asked my doctor and she said it can either be pressure from the baby moving down or I had a contraction and didn't feel it til the end.

I'm the same with those pains. I'm 37 weeks as well, and I'm just thinking it's air, I cannot really make a bowel movement without releasing air
