What are your experiences after getting your mebranes stripped?

I had my weekly check up today. I'm scheduled to be induced this Friday morning, but my midwife stripped my membranes this morning to see if I might go into labor on my own. She said if my body is ready I should go into labor within 24 to 48 hours. I'm 3cm dilated and 70% effaced. Our baby girl measures at about 8lbs 2ounces +- 1lb and I am originally Due on Christmas day but elected to be induced early due to pre-existing herniated disk in my tail bone and lower back that causes me a lot of pain as my baby gains more weight. Anybody have some experiences on  how membrane stripping worked for them they would like share?

I ad a sweep last Thursday at 40 weeks and did get a few signs afterwards but then nothing came of them. I'm being induced in the morning x

My contractions seem to be happening at night but not close enough together. I guess I will be being induced tomorrow morning and welcoming our little bundle of joy!

I had mine sweeped at 40 weeks 1 day.. And I'm still pregnant at 40 weeks 6 days lol. Going back tomorrow for another sweep and to set an induction date. Best of luck!

Thanks for your reply. I have had some infrequent contractions and cramping since but nothing steady yet. I would love to go into labor on my own but right now I'm playing the waiting game. So I guess which ever comes first.

I had.mine stripped twice in my last week. I was over due and going to the dr every other day. After they did it, I lost parts of my mucus plug but I didn't go into labor..instead they induced me because my fluid levels were too low. I have heard of others who go into labor within hours..it just depends on your body and how ready it is for labor.

I'm curious too! 38 weeks and 2 days...my Dr's office won't strip until 29th week. But my next apt I'll be 38 weeks and 5 days. The next one after that will be 39 weeks and 4 days. Hoping I can talk him into it a few days early vs 4 days later....I haven't lost my mucus plug, nor do I think my belly has dropped....I really hope labor starts on its own. But sooner rather than later would really be appreciated!
