quitting job and gaining unemployment?

Is that possible? I live in California btw was wondering if anyone has done this? My doctor won't give me leave because I am in my 1st trimester.

No I understand that it's not just free money. I've been on unemployment before and I was just curious if there were any difference of you were pregnant. Thanks everyone

You usually have to get laid off, not fired, to get unemployment. You also have to be actively looking for a job. It isn't just free money because you decide not to work. Look for a new job if you can't handle yours.

I quit my Job as well bc it's very stressful and I want to do whats best for my baby. im glad i quit, I've been feeling very discomfiortable with my pregnancy and rest is what my baby needs.   You can't collect unemployment for pregnancy in any states. If you get fire on a job then it will not look good for future search.

Everything you do, takes plan. I have married for 3 years and didn't want baby until I have money. Although my husband makes 6 firgures, I could have had baby sooner but I wanted to plan for  a baby with my own ability in case something happen to my husband. Always good to have back up. I wish you luck and happiness.

Right sounds too convenient. The type of job I do. .. my nausea and vomiting it's just too much to handle. I'll just stick it out until they fire me then I guess. Thank you

If it was legal to quit & get unemployment, everyone would do it.  Why do you want to quit so soon?

In California you have to get fired to receive unemployment. If you're in school you can get it by being a student too.
