Ill be 37 wks this Thursday... Im due 12/15 doctor was gonna take me off work as of last wk but i said no... Now i regret it so i hope i can get a excuse to get out on leave as of nxt wk....  You should get information from your employer on how much leave you can take... Best of luck...

If you go at 37 weeks how long will I get to stay on maternity leave after the baby comes? I'm not sure how the whole maternity thing works as this is my first child.

Thanks y'all. I just scheduled an appointment with my doctor for wendsday. When i go I'll talk to her and see what my options are...my employer isn't really wanting to give me a whole lot of information on it.. I just know I've been at work all last week in and out the bathroom throwing up and not able to stay around the food I work with without feeling sick. Even at home I feel nauseous I think its about time for me to come out of work.the other day i had to leave early because the hemmroihd pain I have been getting was so bad I cried because I had to keep walking back and forth from stations. The pressure from her is to heavy for me to be on my feet like I have been

It depends on where you work / live. In California at my work the standard is you can have 4 weeks before and 6 weeks after the due date for vaginal normal delivery and 8 weeks after for c section. Unless of course you have a medical need for longer. But there are other unpaid leave options under FMLA and my work also has a baby bonding that allows you to take an additional 12 weeks after that 6-8 week period it is just unpaid and docked pay for me.

You should contact your employer HR department soon to get specific details and work out a plan for yourself. My work was very good about explaining all the options and what to do for the whole process. But typically in my experience taking more time before does not effect how much time you get after.
I live in Texas and its the same here..
