Breakouts

Hi,

Anyone having breakouts?  My skin is much worse now-a-days. Lots of black/white heads.  Have small pimples on my back too.

Hate this.  Any advice on how to handle it, or is it just a pregnancy thing to be put up with..

Is this related to baby gender?  Some say skin breaks out with a boy.  But I know people who had breakouts and they had a girl!  Old wives tale?

I too have had some terrible acne this Pregnancy!! My skin was soo clear pre-pregnancy and the second my lil guy was created my face freaked out!! I started getting pimples on my forehead, chin, chest and back! I was like AHHH!
They say you break out more with a girl because "they steal all your beauty" like the above poster said...but I dunno because my acne was BAD and I'm having a little boy!
It just started getting a little bit better this past week (my 17th week) but goodness I want that radiant glow now!! Tired of covering up zits! LOL

I was using Neutrogena but it was doing absolutely nothing so a girl on here recommended this soap called "Purpose" and I wouldn't swear by it, but its helped. I was using it twice a day and it was helping..but than the one day I forgot to use it my face got so bad! So I dunno, I guess we just have to deal with bad acne, hopefully it wont last our entire pregnancies!

I think that "radiant pregnancy glow" comes from the sheen of oil covering our faces and creating our pimples! Lol.

I have had terrible skin with this pregnancy, I did with my first pregnancy too. (so maybe it's a boy)

This time it is even worse, with the top half of my face being constantly dry with flaky skin, and from my nose down (including my jawline) surrounding my mouth I am covered in spots!!

I do remember that my skin got better though, so I am hoping that it all starts to clear up soon..

UUUGGGGGH. I hear you guys and man is it a pain. I too have read that breakouts me a boy but someone also told me a girl steals her mothers beauty during pregnancy and unfortunately no really knows until either an u/s shows it or the doc tells you on delivery day. Get this one side of my face seems relatively okay, alittle oily at times and on the other side I have this annoying dry patch that runs from my nose down to my jaw no matter what lotion I use. I was laughing the other day when I told my mom that maybe it meant I was having one of each =-)!!!!!!!! Three more days and hopefully we will know for sure please keep your fingers crossed that at least one is a little girl for my husbands sake!

Hi,

I reckon my skin never completely got over being a teenager, I've always had occassional breakout, particularly when my system was out of sync for some reason.

I though I would have hoped it would be better now I'm in my late 30s.

Hope this doesn't last the whole pregnancy.  Yeah! Where is the glowing skin and luxuriant hair we are supposed to have?  It's skipped me so far.

I'm using lacticid (a pH balanced skin wash) that used to help before I got pregnant, but not much help that I can see yet.  Drinking heaps, trying to avoid squeezing them, and guess I'll see what happens.

Haven't asked my doctor about this yet.  I guess I will when I see her next.

ANy help or advice from anyone welcome!!!

Oh my gosh, THANK YOU!! I was just going to post this question...I'm so glad to know I'm not the only one!! Now that my morning sickness is gone, my breakouts are definitely my worst "symptom", and they are driving me insane. Where is that "radiant pregnancy glow" skin I keep reading about? I figured I'd probably have a problem with this, my skin always got worse right before my period and certain types of birth control made me break out too, so I knew my skin was very sensitive to hormones. What about yours?
My doctor said it shouldn't last my whole pregnancy, can anyone who has had previous pregnancies confirm that statement?
Nothing seems to help, I wash my skin several times a day and drink plenty of water. Help!
