Issues with Weight Gain

Hi,

I have to admit I am really petrified about gaining weight (yes, I do have some issues with food and body image).  I was celebrating at the gym today because I had lost 1 lb and although I am trying to eat really well (all natural stuff, fruits, veges, meats, dairy - minimally processed) I am also consciously trying not to eat too much.  Am 10-11 weeks now and am pretty much maintaining my prepregnancy weight (just 1 lb down).

Anyway, I was researching on weight gain and here is a really good link.  I love this site.  It promotes a varied and healthy diet with a lot of focus on the quality of foods that are eaten and no focus at all on weight gain.  Take a look!

Hey, you are so right.  I'm gonna have to keep reminding myself that.

I'm focusing on eating right and exercising, and trying not to get concerned with weight!

I heard this on the television and thought it was nice, when you do eventually put on some weight try not to think of it in that you are gaining pounds, you are gaining a baby!!!! and from what I do know about you I don't think your going to go out and gain an excessive amount of weight by any means, you very active and have been incredibly lucky to maintain that throughout this tiring first trimester. I wouldn't be trying so hard to lose weight at this point, that will have to wait until afterwards. Believe me I am not excited at all about weight gain at this point in my life - I am the second heaviest I have ever been and am now pregnant with not one but two babies but I have to do what is best for the babies and if it means I have to pack on a few pounds here or there so be it!!! People would always get upset when asked how I was feeling during a previous pregnancy because I would always reply "fat" and I am trying hard to change my outlook so I can truly enjoy each and every part of this pregnancy as well as my expanding belly! Please please don't beat yourself up about things like that, think of all the women who would do anything to be where you are right now! Alright I am off my soapbox - sorry!!
