I planned on naming my daughter Lily Anna YEARS ago should I ever have one. Well, the name Lily is SO popular right now. A lot of aquaintences have "someone they know" with a child named Lily. A friend's niece who is due any day will be named Lily. A childhood friend of my dh's had a baby two months ago and named her Lily. My dh's ex-wife named her dog Lily. It's everywhere! So, now I'm at a loss on what to name this baby. We thought about naming it after my grandmother, Ruby, but I found out from my sister today that my grandmother secretly hates her name and always has. Also, she doesn't really care so much about passing along names as she feels the child should be its own person.
That being said...it's back to the drawing board...again.
I loved the name Lily because it was four letters, like my son Levi. The fact they both started with L was a fluke.
My hubby says not to dwell on 4-letter names and let's just find something we like.
So far, all I've come up with are:
Claire (we could use Annette as the middle name...J/K!!! Wouldn't it be awful to be referred to as a musical instrument your whole life? ;-)
Cecilia Rose (we were thinking of this one as an alternative to Lily on the last baby, but it turned out to be a boy anyway! I still love the name Cecilia, but hate the name Rose with it b/c my mil's name starts with Rose.)
Roseanna (again, the Rose gets to me)
Caroline
Any suggestions? I don't want anything too far out. Just a normal name, easily spelled so people aren't always guessing how to pronounce it or spell it.
