question about mucus plug

hi new moms! I am in the MArch moms group - due in 17 days and this am I think I started to pass my mucus plug - sorry for TMI - but every time I wipe - there is a large bit of jelly-like mucus tinged brown. i have also been having low back aches - which I called DR and phys asst said this could be back labor and to call if it intensifies.

Did anyone here pass the mucus plus? Did it sound like what i am describing? I feel like every time I go the bathroom more comes out on the TP or in the toilet. If this does sound familiar - how long under you went into labor? Thanks and congrats to new moms!

I never lost my plug.....and had a c-section 9 days before my EDD.

Sounds to me though like it was your plug that you lost! Best wishes on the rest of your pregnancy and motherhood!

I went into labor about 5 days after I lost my plug.

Yes definitely sounds like your plug. I didn't loose my plug all at once.  Almost everyday for about two weeks I lost a little bit every morning when I went to the bathroom.  Some people are lucky and go into labor right away, but that wasn't my case.  I went into labor about 2-3 weeks after loosing my plug.. plus I was induced.  Once you have your "bloody show" then your very close to labor, within 24-48 hours.  Hope you don't have to wait as long!  Rest as much as you can and take it easy, your little one will be here in no time.  Take care :)

ok - since I posted this - I think I passed the actual plug. It was one thick thing - sort of looked like a mushroom but jellyish. Anyway - pretty sure that was the plug - but curious if anyone else had this and how long until they went into labor?
