Well it sounds very similar to my experience and I am also 11 weeks. My spotting is quite minimal now, so hopefully the rest has helped. I wonder how much the cyst (I have one on my ovary) and fibroids have to do with it (and/or the cramping).
BTW, thanks for telling me about the cramping. I had my suspicions that that's what it was. I've had that round ligament pain from early on -- if I move too quickly in certain directions, it pulls (also if I laugh too hard, but I figure that's a good thing).
Unfortunately, my dh had to go on a short trip today so I had to take care of the dogs (walk them, feed them, play with them a little). I don't know how women with children do bed rest. At least I can get these guys to settle and sleep most of the day with me.
Here something to know..... I was at the ER on Monday since I had some heavier spotting and major cramping on Friday and lt up until monday. I was checked no heartbeat so they told me to wait two days and put me on bedrest no lifting or sex. Well I went to the dr Wed and they did a ultrasound, I have a irritated cervix and 4 cysts one on my ovary and three on my cervix along with some old blood lying in my uterus. The baby is totally fine and flipping and had a heartbeat of 179 bpm. The dr (who specializes in high risk pregnancies told me) the cramping is due to the utereus getting bigger and the baby growing and that its very normal to spot all along with your pregnancy. I am on moderate bedrest as if I feel bad don't do anything and NO lifting along with going to them to keep an eye on things each week. And as long as you still feel pregnant your ok. She also told me that as long as its not heavy as a period not to worry. I will be 11 weeks tomorrow.

Thanks Stefanie, Things seem to be calming down, but I will definitely bring it up at my next appointment. I've never heard of it before. You never know. Jo
Journeyjojo - I too started cleeding at 5 weeks. Then at around 9 weeks i was getting that brown discharge - yuk. Nonetheless, have you checked yourselves for Thrombophilia? I thought I was miscarrying at 5 weeks but it turns out I have a bad case of thrombophilia and even with lovanox I was clotting. There was a huge clot near the sac that bled out. TREMENDOUS pain. It did not cause damage to the sac, but I was put on bedrest. For the last few weeks I have been OK - my doctor was hoping that the clot would leave my sustem and he said if I see dark brown discharge and little specs, it was a good sign. Thankfully that is what happened. BUT now there are two newer clots forming. So I may be upped to two lovanox shots per day.
PLEASE ladies, demand that you have your doctor check you for thrombophilia. I had two previous miscarriages while undergoing IVF with a different clinic. That doctor NEVER checked for thrombophilia and I am almost certain that MC was due to NOT being treated for thrombophilia.
GOOD LUCK TO ALL!!!
LOL, I know how u feel. We were on a ttc break so I could have back surgery and I got preggers. What a surprise. I am like you, freaked out that I am pregnant but so dang happy about it. Everyday I have worries as you do and it is so normal.
My hormones are so out of whack that I am crying over commercials. My poor DH thinks I am nuts! LOL
I know 6 months! Time is flying by. Luckily we have each other to enjoy this crazy roller coaster. Strap yourself in it will be a bumpy exciting ride but so worth it! :)
Kelly
Thanks. I'm just so freaked out that I'm pg! I mean, we tried for so long, and I'm 41; it couldn't possibly be true that I would be blessed with such a miracle!!!! It's going to be a tough 6 months and 1 week -- WOW -- that's not 9 months anymore, is it! Oh, did I mention the EMOTIONAL ROLLER COASTER I ride on a daily basis!
I have a large cyst on my right ovary and that does at times cause pretty painful cramping. But I have had them before so when I do get that bad pain I know exactly what it is.
Seems like u will be just fine. Rest! :)
Hugs,
Kelly
I have 2 fibroids and a cyst on one of my ovaries, so I wonder if that's causing some of the cramping. It's not bad cramping. It's very light and constant. I wonder if it's just stretching of the uterus or something like that. I don't see my RE for an u/s until next week, but I left a message at the clinic. Oh, they just called -- They said not to worry and take it easy unless it becomes red, in which case call them back. It's so hard not to worry, but it definitely helps knowing that others are in the same position. Oh, they also said not to worry about the little bit of cramping, just so long as it's not painful, which it isn't. Never a dull or worry-free moment!
I have the same thing happening to me, I am 11 weeks 4 days, and I have had spotting about every 5 days scince I was 9 1/2 weeks, it's usually light pink to medium red, but not real dark, and not a lot, it's just when I wipe, I had it again yesterday and today, I don't know what to think of it, I go to the doctor on monday so I will ask her what it could be, but the first time I had it they did an u/s and said everything looked fine and they could even get a heart beat 140bpm they couldn't see where the bleeding was coming from. they just told me to take it easy, no lifting or sex untill I see my doctor next, but I have been noticing the last couple of days that I have had a slight cramp in my lower right abdomen from time to time, I do have a fibroid so I hope it is just that. Hang in there ladies, I hear a lot of women have spotting and everything turns out just fine.
Well to my understanding it is not uncommon. I am almost 14 weeks and I have been having bleeding off and on. They put me on bed rest and it goes away. I actually just had bleeding Tuesday night and went in to my doctors yesterday and they said my cervix was closed and that everything is fine. I think it just happens to some of us!!
I had the same thing at 13 weeks and 16 weeks with my daughter. Just keep your doctor notified if the pain increases or bleeding returns. Doc had no idea why I had that with my first pregnancy but baby was fine.
