Please do keep me updated with everything.  I am glad that everything looks okay anatomically.  Hopefully the consultant will provide you with some comforting next step options.  I'm keeping you in my thoughts!

thank you for taking the time to write, and thank you for your kind words, they have taken about 10 pints of blood when I was at the hospital and they also took tissue samples, I had an ultrasound done on my womb and ovaries and they said that there are no problems there. I am going back to the hospital on Friday for some results and to talk to a consultant about what can happen now, the worst thing is I asked them to test my hormone levels weeks ago but they thought I was worrying too much because of my last miscarriages, its not something they do here routinely. now I worry that if they had done tests when I felt something was wrong, this might not have happened.
I wish you all the best with your pregnancy and I will keep you updated if that is ok? thanks xxxxxx

I'm so sorry to hear about your mc.  I have had 2 - 8/2007 and 4/2008, and after the second one my doctor ran a battery of tests to determine if I had any conditions - including the thyroid issues and clotting factor niki_beth mentioned.  She also tested me for lupus.  Because my husband and I are Jewish we had already done a bunch of genetic testing.  They can test you, and if you are positive for anything then they will test your partner too.  They do draw it seems like a gallon of blood.  I had hcg and progesterone levels tested early with both previous pregnancies, and they were early indicators of the mcs.  This time I have been taking progetsterone supplements and I don't know that that has anything to do with making it through the first trimester, but it at least felt like I was "doing something" which helped psychologically.

Remember, there are also many other tests that I am sure I didn't mention... all I know is when I finally got them to run the tests on me there were VILES of blood taken... I thought I was going to need a transfusion after!! As far as progesterone levels... you can ask, and maybe research, but I am not sure if they can test those or not after you m/c... you may have to wait until your next pg and then have them draw your blood on a regular basis to track your levels (so you can see if they are low or what they are doing) Or, your Dr. may just put you on progesterone as a preventative without the testing (that's what they did for me). The only test that I had come back abnormal was that they said I had MTHFR which is a clotting factor, but not that serious of one... I take baby asprin in my pg as a preventative of that and so far so good, its amazing how the little things can do SO much!!
I also noticed you mentioned surgery... do you mind if I ask what for? Are you having a D & C? If so you might also request that they send any tissue to the pathologist for testing too. I am so sorry that you feel like your Dr. didn't listen to you... that is a horrible position to be in... I would talk to him about that and ask him... could the headaches been a sign of low progesterone?? If you still don't feel you get good straight answers though I might take that as a sign to find a new Dr, prior to your next pregnancy. I have found that a good Dr. who you feel comfortable with and who listens to you is an invaluable thing!
Still praying you find answers, and definitely don't give up till you do. Make sure you tell those Dr's that you DESERVE them!! You really DO!! And I know that you will find someone to help you if you keep looking and fighting!!
I really do hope that you keep me posted, either through here or you can message me as well. ((((HUGS))))

Thank you for your support, I am going to go and see my doctor next week, and discuss the things that you have mentioned, I have been doing some research online about progesterone and it does seem to fit, but I was never tested during this pregnancy, so I am going to bring up that subject and I am going to demand they do tests, even if I have to have a tantrum in the surgery! one thiing I am a little annoyed at is, about 2 weeks before I had my ms,I went to my doctor with crippling headaches and he just gave me painkillers, but I have read online that this can be an indicator that there is a low progesterone level in pregnancy, so I am annoyed that he didnt even bring it up.
I will keep you posted if thats ok with you? thank you again, love and hugs back xxxxx

Its funny you should mention that... it is definately worth talking to your Dr. about... my daughter was from one relationship, then I had 3 m/c with another and my son is from my DH now (as is this baby)... I wonder if there is some testing that can be done on your DH too?
I know that there are a TON of tests that can be run... just a few would be to check your thyroid, check for clotting disorders, check for chromosomal abnormalites that you or DH may carry and could pass on, etc... the list goes on and on...
The other thing to remember is our bodies change... it isn't uncommon for people to have secondary infertility... therefor I wouldn't think it would be that far fetched for your body to change enough to not be able to support a pregnancy... such as progesterone levels, etc...
Did they ever check your progesterone levels with this (or any other pregnancy) I have to be on progesterone suppliments to be able to carry (but I didn't with my daughter)
As far as when to start trying again... make sure to ask your Dr... but what I've always been told is wait for 1 normal cycle... and then try whenever your comfortable... My Dr. always told me that my body would know when it was ready.
Once again... I wish you all the luck in the world and I really hope that you find some answers!! I pray that there will be an easy solution to whatever problems they find. And I'm SO glad that you found someone that is willing to try to help you find the answers!
(((((HUGS))))) Please keep me posted on how you are doing.

thank you,I keep being told different things from different doctors, some are happy to textand others not but one said they wil so some texts and they have given me an appointment for next week to start the ball rolling. I have had miscarriages before but they say because I have had live births in between they think that its just bad luck. The thing I am worried about though is that my four children are from my first marriage, I will list my history:

son born 1994
miscarriage at 7 weeks 1995
miscarriage at 12 weeks 1996
daughter born 1997
daughter born 1998
miscarriage 7 weeks 1999
son born 2001
these were from my first husband
miscarriage at 14 weeks 2002
miscarriage at 10 weeks 2009

I was wondering whether or not it makes any difference whether the father is the same? could that be an issue? I am just fed up,we waited 7 years too try again because of how distressing the last miscarriage was.
Does anyone know of any tests that I could ask my doctor for or things I could suggest as reasons?
I really want to try again as soon as possible. I get pregnant very easily. is it good to try again straight away? people seem to have different ideas?
Thank you for all of your supprt,I really am grateful. xxxxxx

Oh I am so sorry!  I know how hard it can be to have recurrent m/c... the toll it can take on you is horrible! I know that nothing I can say right will really help, but please know that I am thinking of you. And that we are all here for you if you need us.

If your Dr. won't do any testing can you find another that will? Can you insist that they do? I didn't m/c my first, but then I had 3 m/c between my 1st and 2nd... once they put me on progesterone and baby asprin it cut down on alot of my problems...
Will they at least talk to you about trying something different if you decide you want to try again?

Please know that you and your family are in my prayers and please feel free to message me if you ever want to talk. (((HUGS)))

sorry I havent beeen in touch,I was rushed by ambulance to hospital as I was losing too much blood and clotting, the pain was like giving birth. I already knew that I had lost the baby as I had passed a clot that was huge and I think that was the pregnancy sac. I just got home,I had to be put on drips due to the bloodless. I am devastated. I dont think that I have the strength to go through this again, this is my fifth miscarriage but the second in a row. The doctors said that they wont due any tests to see what went wrong because I have had live births in between the 5 miscarriages.
I hope that you all have happy and healthy pregnancies, thank you for your support.xxxx

I don't think bright red bleeding with clots is ALWAYS bad... I did have m/c too that were that way, but with my son things were different... and I always had bad cramping with the bright red bleeding with the m/c... I had little to no cramping with ds. I am praying for you to have a great outcome, but know that we will be here for you no matter what. I have you in my prayers this morning, awaiting your update. (((HUGS)))

thank you or that, I am trying to be postive but every web site that I go on says the same thing, and rom personal experience it feels like I have one before. Even my boobs arent sore and  my tummy feels soft again. The blood is bright red with little clots and thats not good is it? I have slight cramps but that could be hunger and nerves too! I wanted this baby so badly. I have got to go to the hospital for an ultrasound later and I am terrified.xxx

Oh hun, I am SOOOO sorry that you are going through this!! Please don't lose all hope yet though. I too had m/c... 3 actually, between my dd and my ds. At 11 weeks with DS I started bleeding HORRIBLY, passing large clots and was actually rushed to the hospital via amblulance (I was soaking through pads in a matter of minutes). I told my DH the whole way there that this was it... we had lost the baby. As a matter of fact the ER Dr. even told me that my cervix was open and that m/c was inevitable. They insisted on sending me for an U/S to check to see if there was "anything" left in my uterus... low and behold there was my little one!! Completely oblivious that anything was wrong. Turned out I had a SCH which was what caused the bleeding. Although all and all I ended up on bedrest for 6 months (not just for the SCH) my son is here, born at 36 weeks via induction and is perfectly healthy!!!
Hang in there hun. I will keep you in my prayers!!!  (((hugs)))
Are you having any cramping with the bleeding???
