There's a great deal of controversy about Tylenol right now...for everyone, not just pregnant women.  So, when I take it, I am following the new recommendations...

"Tylenol (acetaminophen) is in the news, but not because of a recall or any new drug warnings.

Instead, health experts are concerned about the many accidental Tylenol overdosages that affect people each year. To help reduce them, a joint panel of several FDA committees have made several recommendations to the FDA, including lowering the single adult dose to 650 mg, lowering the maximum adult daily dose, making the 500 mg pill available by prescription only, banning prescription medicines that combine Tylenol with a narcotic, like hydrocodone or codeine, and placing a black-box warning on medicines that combine acetaminophen with another prescription pain ingredient."

I would think that a heating pad would be fine as long as you don't let it get too hot and don't have it too close to the baby...just my opinion, though!

Good luck!

My doctor gave me a list of meds that are ok.  Tylenol and extra strength tylenol are OK (WHEN NEEDED) and NOT to exceed the recommended dose as the label states on bottle.

My Dr. told me heating pads and tylenol are fine... as long as you don't take more than recommended. If you keep hurting this bad though maybe put a call into your Dr. It couldn't hurt to be seen.
I hope you feel better soon!

I don't see what would be wrong with a heating pad - it's a non-medicinal approach.  Is it stress maybe? I get bad upper back pain when I'm under a lot of stress...  Hope you feel better and get some relief!
