Are you getting your baby a special pair of first shoes?

I am just also curious what you guys were thinking for your first pair of walking shoes?
I will be taking Ezra to the Gucci store after he takes his first steps to get his first pair of shoes... he will look so cute in them and he for sure deserves something nice after everything that he has been through

hahaha that's funny.  Gosh my poor princess, she gets all hand me downs or seconds clothes.  Ella doesn't wear dresses at all because she gets angry when she can't crawl so its just one piece suits and pants with tops for her.

I would love to get her some headbands and I did but my other two just pull them off her.  My 2 year old looks gorgeous with her hair tied up but she hates it up and within 5 minutes her hair is out.  I'm afraid I'm going to have two tom boys :(

I don't think a week goes by that I don't purchase something for Ellie like a cute skirt or dress. She almost always wears pink, her outfits always match and have a matching headband. It is so much fun dressing her up. After having a girl I never want boys lol I want more girls so I can dress them up :D. My poor hubby keeps threatening to take my credit card away or else he will need a second job :P

Oh my gosh it's SO bad I cannot stop buying baby clothes for Ellie. She has headbands with matching flowers in every color (pink, purple, orange, blue, red, ivory, white, yellow, black, brown..,). She has so many dresses formal, semi formal, casual.  She has tutu's skirts I just can't help myself lol

Yeah I don't know about my husband I think he would kill me as well and think "where has my wife gone" I am so cheap!!!!  If I can buy a piece of an outfit for 20 bucks or even less I will be happy.

I have never heard of bronzing first shoes.  What a good idea that would have been if I knew it with my first.  The only thing I have kept were my kids first outfits when they left the hospital and even then I just keep them in a bag in the wardrobe :(

My hubby doesn't buy me any jewellery - I have never liked wearing it so he stopped buying it.  The only jewellery I wear is my engagement, wedding and eternity ring and even then I get sick of wearing them because there are too many.

Lol no no don't take it as what I am saying it was simply a copy and paste I'm not saying buy more books or anything either. No judgement here I was simply copying and pasting from the weekly email I get from the hospital I delivered at. I thought it pertained to what we were discussing.

I know the tradition use to be to bronze the first shoe it reminded me of that when you asked about first shoes :) I think my mother has my first shoes still and bronzed them. Anywho the high end stores do have super adorable outfits and stuff for babies but I'm pretty sure my husband would kill me if I purchased something for Ellie from there lol. He is so cheap :P. I'm lucky when he buys me diamonds or jewelry from Tiffany&Co.

When you do buy the shoes you totally got to post a pic on here for us. I bet they will be adorable

To be honest I have never really thought about first pair of shoes lol with any of my kiddies.  I don't even put socks on Ella - pretty poor I think lol because she always pulls then off.  I have always found no shoes better than shoes.  I don't even use those soft soled shoes until they are walking properly because I found it made them harder to walk.  My kids are always walking between 9-10 months so I probably use the soft soled shoes at about 18 months.

I don't see why you should apologise!!!!  it was a good question :) and everyone has their own opinion - that's what makes these discussions great!!!!!  If we all agreed it would be boring :).  We don't have much money and probably never will so I don't know much about specialty stores.  I buy all my baby's clothes second hand and if I splurge I go to kmart where they are cheap.  Actually I lie sometimes I buy stuff from pumpkin patch which sells beautiful kids clothes.  My son (4) is a pain because he likes all that licensed stuff which just looks terrible on but what can you do :)

I have no fashion sense whatsoever lol :) so for me its the cheaper the better :)

Ps I don't know what any of those stores are!!!!

I was not as fortunate with my first two children to afford everything that i wanted for them and now that i have enough to spoil the baby with nice clothe and shoes i will... personally gucci is my favourite brand that i wear and i want the baby wearing it too... as for the baby books I have many and buying my baby a pairr of shoes is not going to break the bank account...

I was only curious if anyone else had plans for their babies first pair of walking shoes i didnt mean it any other way.... sorry

Here is an email from the hospital I delivered at:
As your baby becomes more mobile, you may be thinking about getting him his first pair of shoes. Learning to walk, however, comes more easily to barefoot babies who can grip the floor with their toes and balance on the soles of their feet. Your baby’s feet need to be kept warm when outdoors with socks and soft booties, but exploring indoors is safer and easier without shoes or socks. Once your baby is walking about, you can get him a pair of soft sneakers with rubber soles to protect his feet outdoors. There is no need for expensive shoes...buy baby books instead!

We have a specialty shop that does nothing but infant and toddler shoes.  I bought all my kids shoes there and hers too.  They r pricey but worth it.

I am not getting any special ones mainly because they have to be soft bottom shoes until the age of 2 so usually they don't have good shoes like that.
