Baby sleep times

Ok I really hope not to offend anyone but I just had to share this because I thought it was crazy.

My husband, I and the kids were at my sisters and there friend turned up.  He mentioned his wife wasn't going to be impressed with him because he put the kids to bed at 7pm.  I said 7pm what time do they normally go to sleep and he replied oh about 1 or 2 in the morning.  I said are you serious!!!!!  That is just crazy and the conversation went on.  I said well each to there own but I think that is terrible!!!!! (I think I offended him) but if I really said what I thought he would be even more offended.

Was I rude with my comments!!!  I know it is none of my business thank goodness for that but I just think that is crazy!!!!!  My children are in bed by 6:30 and asleep between 6:30 and 7.  On the weekends we sometimes let them watch tv to fall asleep but they are asleep by 7:30 the latest.

I still can't believe.  Oh I forgot a vital ingredient.  They are aged 5,6 and 7.

What are your thoughts!!!!  I can't wait to throw my kids in there room for bed lol.  Ella goes to bed from about 5:30 6 and wakes up at about 6 in the morning.  I must add the only reason she sleeps through is because she's forula fed.  When she was breastfeed she slept next to me and tossed and turned all night :)

Most children who get less than 11 hours of sleep per night the cause is not enough daytime sleep. Children who are over tired sleep less and have poor quality sleep. Seems the opposite what you would think

At this age most children need 11 hours of sleep at night and 3-4 hours of daytime sleep. Many wake up in the morning, are up for 3 hours before napping then when waking from morning nap will go down again 3 hours after that for an afternoon nap. Three hours after waking from afternoon nap is bedtime.

Well I was naughty last night and Ella woke up at like 8:30 and when we tried to put her back down she cried so i put her in bed with me.  I don't think we went to sleep till about midnight so now I am blimmin exhausted because I woke up with her at 4am!!!!!  AGGGHHHH

I think her routine is changing a bit - I think she is losing a sleep I just haven't figured out which one it is yet.  Her bed routines are like this.

She wakes up anytime between 5 and 6am
She goes down again at 7:30am till about 8:30
She goes down again at 11:30 till 1:30
She has a rest whether she sleeps or not at 3pm for about 30 mins
She goes down for the night between 5:30 and 6:30 depending on how grizzly she is getting.

The last day or so she has been staying up till about 7:30 like tonight but she went to bed straight away.  I think its her 7:30am sleep we will be dropping soon - we will see!!!!!

My first boy terrible at going to sleep and I tried tons of things - he basically slept with us every night.  Another thing I tried was just lying in his room so he could see me and eventually after the tears he would fall asleep.  When he was in a big bed I would sit on the edge of his bed until he went to sleep and would continously put him back in bed and physically lie him down.  It is a long process but after a few weeks it makes like a million times better.

The thing I have learnt about everything is CONSISTENCY and that is something I still struggle with when I just can't be bothered lol

Try waking Ezra up 12 hours after when bedtime SHOULD be. So if you want him asleep at 8pm wake him at 8am every morning.

Ellie goes down at 8:30pm on the dot we have an established bedtime routine that takes 15 min, use the potty, lotion/massage, diaper on, jammies, brush teeth, story, breastfeed. That's it. Some nights she gets a bath but not every night bc the Midwest in the winter really dries out everyone's skin and babies skin is so sensitive anyway that they don't need a bath daily and it's not really good.

I think same as you rcc that bedtime is way too late for a child!  What happens when they go to preschool and then kindergarten and they are up till 1am?!

Ezra has now decided he wants to be up till 130 am... how do i change this?i bathe him around 8.00 pm and that used to make him fall a sleep within an hour..

i will lay down with him for his bottle it looks like he is going to sleep until he sits up and gives kisses and starts yelling at me lol... and right now i have insomnia so even tho i feel like i will pass out within seconds i dont i lay in bed for 1-2 hours... so i get 4 hours a sleep a night at this point... its killing me!!!

I couldn't even stay awake until 12 or 1 in the morning! LOL! Carly & Ashton are asleep by 8 (8:30 at the VERY latest!) and will sleep until about 7:30 the next morning. I'm beat by the time they're going to sleep and can't wait for that "me" time!

oh I'm lucky Ella is sleeping through.  I took the monitor out of the room so I don't know if she wakes lol (terrible)

My kids bedtime routine was horrible when we first started.  I spent many weeks and hours taking them back to their rooms, lots of yelling and physically putting them back in their beds.  Eventually all of our hard work paid off.  Now we can just put them in their beds and they go to sleep on their own.

I will be honest I would sit at the end of their beds for about an hour if not longer physically lying them back down - Boy it was frustrating but all that hard work paid off.

I honestly don't know how Ella is going to go - I am dreading it!!!!!

I tried to put Sophia to sleep earlier than what she goes to sleep now. I usually bathe her at 930 sometimes earlier and,  at 10 we go down for bed, she usually tosses and fidgets through the night to be fed. I have tried to put her to sleep by 830 but what happened was that she would wake up at midnight and play until 2am :( 10pm seems to be a good bedtime for her because she kind of sleeps through the night and wakes up at 830am. It works for us :]

Oh my I don't want to offend you but I just couldn't do that.  My husband and I have pushed my kids bedtime to in bed by 7 and that has just started!!!!  Ella goes to sleep at about 6pm and wakes up at 5:30 to 6 in the morning.

On the weekends my other two aged 4 and 2 can stay up till about 8:30 but they normally crash by about then anyways.

When we just had our first he was going to bed whenever we felt like it because in all honestly we were just being lazy in establishing a consistent bedtime routine - since changing it and having that consistency it has been tons easier for all of us.
