Whatever is safest for you and baby! :)
The doc did regular blood tests for most and since changing a lot of things as far as food and exercise we found I did not need most of them. He took me off the others because they are harmful to the baby during pregnancy and said that if any problems arise he will put me on something safer but most of the safer meds are only safe after the first trimester. Every time I have been pregnant though they always take me off my metaformin and put me on insulin saying it is safer for the baby.
Prilosec is fabulous!! I take singular (asthma), protonix (for ulcer), prenatal plus dha, zoloft (for anxiety) and vicodein for 2 spinal fractures and a pelvic fracture. All considered safe. I have low bp but dr said now with zofran to stop me from puking I should be better bp wise and hypoglycemia should be better controlled.
I am currently taking aldomet(BP), metformin, colace, fish oil, prilosec, prenatal, and calcium, I took everything but the aldomet and the calcium before I found out I was preggo and they said it was ok to keep going with them,. Why did they stop your meds?
When I found out I was pg they took me off all my meds except insulin, synthroid, and oc the prenatal vitamin. I can no longer take my heart meds for high blood pressure and irregular hb; topomax for migraines; metaphormin; and a few others. Which I quit taking some of my meds before pregnancy because I did a lifestyle change in which it helped enough that I could quit taking the extra meds. As far as C-section...both my boys were early but big because of the diabetes (not gestational) and I could not have them natually so this is another C-section baby.
The aldomet is to lower my blood pressure, I was taking Diovan before I got pregnant, but the switched my medication because Diovan kills the fetus or causes serious birth defects.
My BP is 79/50 crazy low bc I'm hypoglycemic. What's aldomet for?
