Weird findings on U/S, anyone?

Question

I went for my 20 week scan and I was so happy to find out I'm having a girl, but then I met with the doctor. He told me that the ultrasound showed an echogenic foci in the left ventricle. Apparently it's a new finding that can indicate a bigger risk for downs'. There really isn't much research on it, so I'm starting to think that it's just a part of the development of the baby, but still I'm unsure. I'm not going to waste money on any tests because the results won't change anything about my pregnancy.

Has anyone heard about anyone with this or had any odd findings on the ultrasound?

My friend's little girl had the same thing...echogenic focus and she is perfectly fine and healthy.  A lot of times, it is gone by the time the baby is born but they will perform another u/s to check it. Also, they use it as  a marker for Downs BUT, it is so common that they are reconsidering its accuracy in detecting Downs because as I said, most clear up before or just after baby is born. With this pregnancy my 20 week showed a perfectly normal fetus.... With my second son his kidneys were not growing properly and he is autistic althogh I don't think his kidney issues have anything to do with his disorder....

Maybe get a second opinion it's prob nothing to worry about
