hello ladies... well as many of you know i have been having problems getting LO to latch... well i am almost 100% sure i have tried everything in my power to get her to breastfeed and still no success... i spoke to a lactation consultant, had the peds nurse help, used nipple shields, tried when she was really hungry, when she wasnt hungry, when she had eaten just a bit, in the morning afternoon evening and in the middle of the night, the cradle, cross cradle, and football positions, all in hope something would work, and nothing is... SHE WILL NOT LATCH....
I had been exclusively pumping till a few days ago when she got colic... i realized it was because i had eaten something spicy that day and had to keep her off my milk for a couple of feeds... gave her formula but just 2ice... then exclusively pumping again but im not producing mch at all... i am lucky if i can get 1 1/2 oz from one breast and 2 1/2 oz from the other... just enough for one feed when i used to be able to get almost a feeding per breast to begin with... my breasts arent getting hard anymore like they used to they just dont feel full... at least not every time i pump... they do somewhat late at night and early morning but not during the day... I cannot believe LO actually won the breastfeeding battle, and feel guilty that I may not be able to provide my milk to her much longer, but I am at peace knowing i tried my best... =(

hey i just got an email from the fda saying something about using reglan and having some kind of side effect... something to do with facial movements... im gonna research on it...

Don't wait for the Rx call now and get it. It's easier to increase from something than increase from nothing or even less. :)

thx ladies... i see my doctor next week so i will def ask for the prescription and im going to pump until there is literally not a drop left lol...

If you want to try to increase your milk supply try mothers milk tea or for best results ask your dr for a prescription for reglan.

At least your tried and ur baby got something.  You did all you could and thats all u can ask for so dont feel bad, you did great.

You did your best you gave it a brilliant go I mean you tried REALLY REALLY hard. Don't get down on yourself you truly did everything in your power and then some. Plenty of babies get formula and they are just fine :). You should be proud of yourself for trying so hard!

my first two there was no hope in getting them to latch either... its dissapointing but at least you gave it your best... with this baby he latched amazingly but the breast reduction i had 2 years ago made it so i dont produce enough milk... i was pumping up until yesterday cause my milk just dissapeared :( i tried a herb fenugreek to help with milk production but all it did was make my arm pits smell like maple syrup lol... i am happy that i was able to give him milk for 20 days at least tho... at least he got some of the good stuff....
