Could my EDD be wrong?

I'm currently 6 days overdue. I'll be 41 weeks tomorrow and if I don't go into spontaneous labor by Tuesday. I'll be induced Tuesday morning at 8am depending on if there is a room available.
This week has had me thinking they could've given me the wrong due date. My last menstrual cycle was April 27th 2014 which made my due date Feb 1st 2015 (baby not ready). But... I got pregnant May 11th 2014 (ovulation date) which will make my due date Feb 15th 2015.  I've been trying to convince my doctor that this is the date they should've went with but she stated they only use the date of conception if it was IVF.
Why??? Especially when I know for a fact that's the day I got pregnant. So now I'm worried about being induced 5 days early because she (the doctor) doesn't want to go to far into 41 weeks. I have a strong feeling I'll labor naturally around the 15th. I don't want to use medicine if I don't have to but it seems I have no say. She doesn't want to consider my theory.

I'm on the same boat except opposite. They think my due date is March 4th but my LMP was May 21st giving me a due date of Feb 25th. I also know the exact dates I had sex in early June over my possible ovulation dates but there's no convincing them anymore, whatever. I guess only the baby knows when he's ready to be born

Due dates are usually an estimate, also remember you don't have to do anything you don't want to. Have you thought of getting a second opinion? I've been induced, I just ask you to do one thing... keep an open mind about everything. I was so sad and got PPD because I had all these plans in my head as to how my birth was going to go and nothing went to plan. My second birth I had an idea of what I would've liked but I kept an open mind to everything and it was the best birth ever!! :) good luck either way mama.

I guess they don't go by your date of conception bc the sperm can live for a few days before you actually conceive. But idk if that makes sense bc the due date is off by more than that. I believe that the Feb 1st due date is correct given you have 28 day cyles. And with an ovulation date of May 11th that is right on. But "full term" is anywhere from 37 to 42 weeks, 40 weeks is just average gestation. So if you feel that you don't want an induction, don't do it. That baby won't stay in there forever. And you don't have to do everything your doctor wants to do. This is your birth.
