DESPERATE. 1 day left to begin labor on own or being induced.

I would not even consent to being induced but baby girl is big and they are concerned about being able to deliver. I'm scheduled to be induced at 5am In the morning. I've had two babies where labor began natural and my third was in induced, it hurt so much more! And since I WILL NOT be having an epidural I really want to start things naturally. I'm nearly effaced completely and was dialated to 3 a week ago. Anyone have any sure fire ways to get things going???

Induction is no longer recomended for macrosomia, not only does it fail to show improvement in the few risks associated with macrosomia, but it causes further complications. I would do more research, be your own advocate, and make your own decisions! What are they going to do, strap you down and force a pitocin drip on you? I feel your pain, I was forced into induction with my first, they literally told me I had no other choice. Lol. I was young!

I wish I did! My midwife gave me a list of homeopathics to induce labor, she said particularly blue cohlosh will start labor. But I'm not sure if it's safe. You could do some research on that. Also caster oil with lemon verbena is supposed to work but I've never tried it. Hope something works! Like you said, a labor that's induced is longer and harder and everything has consequences so you'll have to weigh your options, good luck!
