I agree with you, but everyone is curious and when you find something that wasn't there before you assume things, my doc did say I'm in early labour

Agree with tinuha. Leave the exams to the professionals. That being said, I'm also very guilty of being curious and wanting to check myself. I've even tried to talk my husband into it. Lol.
But I wouldn't know what to feel for and god forbid I mess anything up.
Good luck to you all, and I hope you guys get there soon.

if you can't feel it can be tilted posterior which is fairly common. i dont think it has anything to do with how effaced  or dilated you are... and first time mom of 2 if you are fully  dilated you should definitely be in labour, your probably  also just tilted posterior. leave the medical exams to the experts ladies... i doubt  highly  your actually feeling  the right stuff. i just had my cervix  checked and there is no way even without  a belly i could get my fingers deep enough  to examine  myself like my midwife did. avoid the complications of a possible infection.

I think that means your fully effaced, same thing with me, when my doc cheer today she said I was 90% and I was checked my self but when I checked later I could barely feel it so I'm guess I'm fully dilated
