Epidural: yes or no?

I had an epidural with my first child in 2010. The problem is that I'm so short the needle and medicine with it went into my muscle not my spine. This caused the epidural to wear off after only three hours(causing me to feel everything) but I still couldn't lift my legs on my own. I've had back problems every since that day. I guess my question is, would it be a good idea to go through labor with no medicine or should I give the epidural another try?

I know they are all trained and what not believe me I completely understand they are stressed. I'm just debating if I want to get an epidural this time and take the risk of it going into my muscle again and further damaging my back. My spine has never been straight to begin with so of course that had to do with it not going into my spine right away but he didn't even try to feel for my spine he just went for it. Hopefully a different person will do it this time. I just don't want any further damage done to my muscles and back if they can't do it right but idk if I can make it through a completely natural birth.

Idk if any of have had to do an epidural. They feel the same at of stress giving one as u do about getting one. It is very hard to do them they have to hit a small space between the vertebrae and if u have anatomy that is not perfect which we all do then it becomes even harder. I do epidural in animals daily and very one stresses me out most of the time it is flawless but when it isn't it is stressful. I have had 2 epidural one didn't work but I couldn't move my legs and one I felt the catheter ping down my spine but it worked.
I am very stressed about having another one but I can't go without it bc I have rheumatoid arthritis and every joint hurts already so I will get one again.
I just want u to remember these r people who have training but do still stress about them and want the best for their patients. Sometimes it doesn't work and it ***** if it is u but they r not trying to hurt u. Remember if we all looked like the text book no one would miss and it wouldn't be painful but we don't and that is where the difficulty is

I'm 4 foot 11. I had one 28th my first and I was horrified to get it woth my second bed it hurt so bad getting it the first time but it worked. I had like a panic attack getting it the second time but it still worked and I had a different person out this one in and it hardly hurt getting it done I'm now due again in feb and I still get worried about it but I will get it again. I think maybe the person you had our it in just straight up sucked at there job. Try it again

I didn't get a chance to have epidurals with my first two because my labors were so fast. Hopefully with this one I have the option because I'd gladly take it! I've never felt pain like that again in my life. It's all about what you're willing to endure I guess.
