Have you had membrane sweep?

I'm 40w+2d now. At my last appointment, I was only 1cm dilated and cervix was still thick. My friend suggested a get membrane sweep. Unfortunately, my OB won't be in for my next appointment so I'll be seen by a different doctor. I called the office and asked a nurse today if I could get membrane sweep. She said that: sure, the OB I'll see next time can do it.
My appointment is in 2 days, I'll be 40w+4d then.

I'm a bit concerned because my first baby was born via c-section 17 months ago, this time I wanna do vbac. My OB said I can't be induced because it increases the risk of uterine rupture..
Has anyone had a membrane sweep before? Especially after c-section? What was your experience?

Did it help start labor and was it painful?

Thanks!

I had one done 2/13, however I experienced no symptoms or changes. Had another done today around 1pm EST,which was a little uncomfortable. Have been cramping since, hoping this will push me into labor.

I'm 40 + 3 & booked in for a sweep in 2 days. I had one with my first but it didn't work & I ended up being induced. Once you get close to 41 weeks it's worth trying before induction. I'm booked in to have 3 sweeps next week every 2nd day.

How did it go? Have u given birth yet?
I'm seeing OB tomorrow, hopefully she can do sweep. I'll be 41+2 already. Last time they couldn't do it causer my cervix was too thick still.
