36 week appt yesterday

had my 36 week appt yesterday... Im so not happy about how much weight ive gained.  I thought for sure because of all the heart burn ive had that i hadnt gained any weight this time, nope 2 more pounds!  My husbands being very sweet and saying its for the baby calm down but im still a female and seeing those numbers freaked me out.  Ive now gained 23lbs, i know in my head that its not that bad but when im used to being a size 3 its really feaking me out.  Ohterwise everything is going ok.  I was tested to see if ill have to have antibiotics during delivery(forget what its called) and tested to see if my vaginal infection cleared up.  Pretty uneasy about that... because apparently even if it hasnt it cant be treated at this point because the med is unsafe fpr baby this late in preg.  Im dialated to a 2 still, the doc doesnt think i'll make it to the end of the month.  Were getting there : ) thank goodness, anyone else not sleeping much?

23lbs is nothing!! Don't worry about the weight, it will come off. Especially that small amount. I think I gained about 35lbs. It's hard to tell because I didn't start getting weighed until I was 3 months and I don't know for sure how much I had wieghed prior. (I quit smoking just before I got pregnant, so I had gained weight from that too)..  I'm not big on scales.. It's just a number :)

Your baby needs all those nutrients. You have gained a healthy amount of weight! You are doing great! I would be scared for you if you had gained any less than what you have... I'm sure you look beautiful and you will be able to lose all the weight very soon after giving birth. My sister had my niece 5 weeks ago, and is already fitting into her pre-pregnancy clothes, and she had gained about 40 lbs!

It'll be alright, I think I am pushing 30 something pounds right now. I was worried at first because I wasn't gaining hardly anything, but this little guy has decided to pack on some pounds these last few weeks.

OMG, you are talking about 23 pounds?????
I gained 35 pounds so far and the last time I weighed my self was 3 weeks ago so i dont know how much more did I gain, and I used to be size 1 before I got pregnant, but I am hoping that I would be able to lose the weight when I deliver my baby........

I can understand how you are feeling about the weight.  I have gained 25 pounds, and I know that it is normal and healthy for the baby, but it freaks me out. I am usually a size 5, and it really worries me that this weight will be hard to lose. Of course I have never dieted during this pregnancy, I just let my body do what it needed to, but I can understand your stress, I feel the same way.

Oh honey....you have only gained 23 pounds....that is excellent. A safe weight to gain for a person that is not over or under weight is 25-35 pounds. You are right on the dot!!!! You should be celebrating!!!! I am 37 weeks and have gained 33 pounds, it kinda freaks me out to, but like Tarobinc said, when you have the baby you instantly lose weight. So don't stress!

I realize its all relative to your experience but really I think gaining 23 pounds is very good!  Plus, remember, you'll lose weight as soon as your baby is born and then more will come off.  You are supposed to gain weight, esp in the end. Your little baby is really packing it on!

I started out pg heavier than I should have been and I have been watching, really watching.  Even now I look in the mirror sideways and I say "oh my!  who's body is this!" so, Ive decided to stop looking at myself sideways!  HA! And so many women stop me and say "wow, that's a big baby!"  At least they are talking about my belly and not my butt!  Its makes me smile b/c it means my dd is moving right along and getting closer to her debut.

Sleep is good some nights and not others.  I find when I can't sleep, I head over to sophia's room and just sit in her glider and try to picture what I think she may look like.  I also have started to read to her.  That helps me remain not so frustrated when i can't sleep and the work day is about to start in 3 hours!
