bleeding after strep b culture?
ok so i went for my 36 week check up today and they did the strep b culture.the second she stuck it up there i yelped in pain...ouch....it hurt worse then ive ever remembered.ususally they say itll be a little discomfort but im ok..this time oh man..anyway the second she did it i felt the urge to urinate terribly even though i had just went.i couldnt get dressed quick enough and get out.i dont know how many of u have ever experienced the horror of a uti b4 but it felt like the worst one ive ever had.either which way i ran to pee but it burned so bad.i left miserable.its been a few hours and am still uncomfotable i was feeling slighty better until i just went to urinate again and it felt like i was peeing fire.when i wiped it was bloody..im not one ot freak bout things but i have not spotted or bled once threw this pregnancy or at all during my first.i called the doc but they havent called me back as of yet its been a half hour.has anyone else experienced this?i have no cramping or pain in my belly just a burning in my vagina but i am worried bout the bleeding.i need sum input guys..thanx!!!
im sorry ..i shouldve rereadwhat i wrote..i am 36 weeks and baby is not head down not 26 weeks..
My little girl didnt go head down til about 32 weeks, but she is face up. My doc isnt concerend though and says I can still deliver vag.
well i went to the hopsital anyways just to check and they said everything looks ok there was no bleeding on the inside and my cervix is fine.they did a bunch of cultures and stuff and gave me an anitbiotic for a uti even though they hadnt gotten the results yet.i was so uncomfortable i guess they could tell..either way however when they did the sono they noticed the baby hasnt yet positioned himself.they said if he doesnt turn soon ill need a csection.i really dont want this even though the idea of skipping labor is nice..anyone elses baby turned after 26 weeks and had normal labor?
Its just like kaity08 said... the spotting is completly normal. I spotted after my strep b and did find it a bit painful as well, but i have a very sensitive cervix so I spot after every exam.
I don't think this much discomfort is normal. I barely felt anything when my ob did my test last week and my cervex is opening. You should definitely check it out. Perhaps this is uti or something like that.
ty i do feel better..my doc called me back and told me to go to l and d..said could be my cervix opening or just a uti but either way should be checked.it freaked me out but im sure its nothing.i hate the idea of sitting there all night to find out nothing is wrong.but i know its a selfish way to think cause god forbid.so i am going ot go in a little bit and ill keep u posted.thanx again\
when my doctor did that test for me she told me that I might experience some spotting, so dont worry about it, it is normal unless you see alot like your period, but if it is just spotting it is ok, I was spotting too, I spotted the day I had the test and I was scared but then it stopped on its own, so dont worry about it, it is completely normal
