Could you suggest that the OB try external cephalic version? I just got this email this morning from the american pregnancy organization. Just thought I would pass it along....
Best of luck to you!

External Version: External version is a non-surgical method in which a doctor can help move the baby within the uterus. A medication to help relax the uterus might be given as well as an ultrasound exam, to better check the position of the baby, the location of the placenta, and the amount of amniotic fluid in the uterus. Gentle pushing on the lower abdomen can turn the baby into the head-down position. Throughout the external version, the baby's heartbeat will be checked closely so that if any problems should occur, the health care provider will stop turning immediately. Most attempts at external version are successful; however, as the due date gets closer this procedure is more difficult.
thank you all so much for ur input and i will definately keep u posted my nest appointment is next friday so i got to wait..but im feeling better..
You know, it is so up in the air.
Get this- On a Thursday I had an ultrasound- head down.
The following Tuesday (5 days later)- I go into labor- and she is breech, so I ended up with a C-Section. I was 37 weeks.
I don't want to scare you, but the bottom line is that these babies can definatly move, and they do. Try not to stress, and hopefully baby will have gotten into position for you.
Rest assured, they do turn, and although it may not be your first choice, I was terrified of the C-Section, and in the end it has turned out okay for me.
You will be okay, good luck, and let us know!!
I was scheduled but my water broke early with no indication that it would. I hadn't dialated or any real contractions. The real contractions started as soon as my water broke though and then it was like 4 hours before they were able to get me in to do the section (labor & delivery was having a record number of babies that day...like 26 in one day). The contractions weren't horrible but really hurt enough to make me decide that I wouldn't have gone through a "natural" birth with no meds!!!
ty..but isnt the idea for u not to go into labor if they know the baby is in the wrong position why did ur doc wait???i do not want to go into labor only to find out i still have to have a c section anyways..thats my only one good thought of the csection knowing when the baby is coming and not having to go threw the pain of labor..lol..
My DD didn't move...I am sure that's not what you wanted to hear. I was devastated by the idea of a c section. That was not in my plans at all. My doctor checked up until the time my water broke just to make sure she hadn't moved. She never did but the doctor was good about trying to make sure at the last second.
But, as scared as I was about a c-section, it was easy...
