Mommies & Babies

I'm sure we are all so very busy with our new little bundles of joy, was just curious as to how every one was doing and how they are handling post-partum (sp?)...any one have their follow up with their doctor yet...how are your babies sleeping, eating, pooping and all that jazz?

I'm tired as all heck, but loving every minute of every day. Corbin has just recently started sleeping more at night and staying up longer during the day. I go back for my pp check up in March and from there I'll be scheduled for my tubal ligation. Corbin has been switched to soy formula b/c he was spitting up very badly and not gaining any weight, but is doing much better now. The only draw-back is that the soy has made him constipated so I'm putting syrup in every other bottle and that seems to do the trick! He is a month old today and has gained a pound and grew an inch!

i m so glad to hear from u all...as for us we r doing great...xavier has put on 3 lbs and grew an inch and a half..he is a little over a month now i went for my pp check up today at 5 weeks instead of 6 for some reason but either way was given a clean bill of health and the right to resume a normal life..lol..whatever that is!!!things have been hectic but worth every second of it..alot of arguing because of lack of sleep around the house but for the most part hes a very good boy..we had to change off that similac advance due to gas problems to i guess alot of babies have trouble with all the iron.anyways good to hear from u all and stay posting updates!!!

I cannot wait to get an iud sex is better than ever..probably cuz I've been w/out for soo long.  But I have a reoccuring fear of getting pg again!! I would jump off a cliff if that happened. Iam breastfeeding and that it going well.  However my job is sucking big time I came back to find that I and my co-worker were put on probabtion (while I was on maternity leave mind you) and there is no explanation why.  I suspect it is cuz 2 ppl whom are related to those in charge complained about me not giving them enough scholarship money.  I have scheduled a meeeting to get this overturned due to the unfairness of it unfortunatly I work for some uneducated morons who want to get re elected no matter what.  anyhow I hope this forum picks up I've missed talking to u all:)

Sophia is a little over 2 weeks now and at her last appt. she weighed 9lbs. She no longer fits into her newborn clothes since she is too long for them now! So, she much have grown an inch or so!  She sleeps at night between 4 to 4 and half hours at a time but last night, she only went 3 hours and then 4 hours.  She was up for 2 hours straight last night crying off and on between 1am and 4am.

My c-section is healing well but I still have some pulling/miminal pain at the scar every now and then.  Breast feeding didn't work out for me, much to me trying and trying and Sophia is on Enfamil and adjusting well.  I did pump for 2 weeks but stopped over the weekend and put her on full formula feeds. She had to be supplemented with formula in the hosptial b/c she had lost weight and I think that, among other issues, contributed to her not breast feeding.  Oh well....we gave it our best shot!

It is a huge adjustment having a baby...no one can ever prepare you for how this goes!  Even though we were so ready, it has been tough at times.  I am finally without company this week and it actually feels good to be just me and Sophie during the day.

I go back to work on March 30th.  Im trying to decide between 24 hours or 32 hours of work each week.  I have to make up my mind and get into talk with my boss. I would like to be home with her at least one day when i head back to work.

I have luckily lost all of my baby weight (I started out heavier pre-pregnancy so I didn't gain much with this baby) but I still have this squishy belly that's so not attractive and I am actually ready to have sex with DH but I have to wait esp. after a c-section.  At least, that is what the OB told me.  I might call to see if the 6 week wait can be lifted but I don't know if I want to make that call to the OB!

I am coping. Very busy!! =D

Jaxson has also had some feeding issues and we had to switch to a different formula b.c the Similac Advanced was making him constipated.. That he ll went on for nearly 2 weeks until we got it all squared away.. He was in gas/lack of pooping A LOT.. Then we got him switched and he seemed happier and we ALL GOT THE FLIPPING FLU.. The past few weeks, with the exception of a couple days has been ROUGH!

I hope Jaxson starts to feel better soon. He has grown 1.5 inches since birth and gained A LOT of weight. He was 6lb12oz at birth and as of Friday (almost a week ago) he was up to 10lb2oz naked, He is 21 inches long.. We went to the ER today for the flu, and their scale said he weighed 11 lbs, but that was fully clothes with a wet diaper, so I am not sure exactly what his weight is..Jaxson will be 5 weeks old on Friday..

I have hemmorhoids and am still bleeding and am super swollen "down there." My stiches are still there and I am feeling DISGUSTING.. I am huge compared to pre pregnancy, and I gained LOADS of weight.. I just hope I can somehow get back to my "normal" chubby size.. I am OBESE right now.. Ugh..

BUT>> I LOVE Jaxson more than life itself and am enjoying him! It will be much better once he is feeling better and his feedings are squared away.. he hasnt been eating well the past couple of days b.c he clearly doesnt feel well.. =(

tramaadi - Yikes on the lice!! I am so sorry you had to deal with that.. Yuck! It is really common unfortunately..

natemomma= thanks for starting this thread. I was wondering how everyone is doing as well! I am sorry Corbin had to switch his formula and is constipated.. I empathize. It is no fun!

Hope everyone is doing well!

Nathan is also a month old and he has gained 2 pounds and is also sleeping better (most of the time) I had my follow up and decided to have the merina iud inserted sounds like a good plan but is very expensive!!  I am slowly adjusting to my new life and am still feeling overwhelmed by life in general.  having a baby just throws ur entire life off kilter.  I paid my bills late, overdrew my checking account cuz I didn't have the time or effort to balance it, bought a new vehicle and my 6 year old dd caught lice from school, they apparently had several kids in her class get itand it has been hell if I could boil my entiere house and everyone in it I would!!  I have never dealt w/it before and pray none of u ever have to either.  It is apparently pretty common in thast age group. ect ect....  Luckily my mother in law and sister in law flew over from vegas and cooked and clean was great except they kept feeding the baby formula which was messing up my b/f.  But all in all things are getting back to place that feels "normal".  Hope u all are coping:)
