Placenta Anterior

Hello ladies I just got my ultrasound report the other day and it said I have a placenta anterior. Has anyone else got this to? I am trying to find more information as I found a little but can't seem to find anything specific..Now I know why it been hard for the midwife to find the heartbeat and I been getting a lot of rib pain and I don't look entirely huge..Lol.

Thanks
Kirsten

Mine is a little anterior and overlapping my cervix. It makes kicks in the left front lower quadrant a bit difficult to feel, but when baby is active I can feel it on the right top and bottom and the left top but usually not on the left bottom. Very odd. I am due for my next u/s to see if the placenta has moved up yet on the 20th. My fingers are crossed.

I have an anterior placenta.  It really isnt a big deal, it just means that you have an extra layer of thick pading in the front, so you may not feel as much movement as others that are at the same point as you.  For instance, I feel movement, but it isnt terribly strong, and when I had my ultrasound she was doing flips and I couldn't feel it- because of the anterior placenta.  It won't effect your delivery at all.
