head cold

Ugh, I feel awful. My head is all stopped up and my sinuses are draining down the back of my throat making my throat ache and my head ache. I'm not running a fever and (TMI) the snot is still clear so no infection. Just miserable. I have tried benadryl and sudafed, neither seems to be helping. I've got some halls cough drops which were also on my okay list. I was wondering is theraflu okay to take? I've got some theraflu in my desk here at work that works for sore throat, body ache, headache, nasal congestoin, fever, and runny nose. All of which I have minus the fever. The active ingredients are acetaminphen (same as tylenol which I know is okay), pheniramine (antihistamine), and phenylephrine (nasal decongestant).

Doc called earlier this am and said no to the theraflu. But said that taking an antihistamine, a decongestant, and tylenol should have about the same effect. So, I took a benadryl, a sudafed, and a tylenol, but that's just not really helping either. I think I know the culprit though. I have a new neighbor that is about an 1/8th of a mile down the road from me. The old neighbors used their barn to store stuff in and the new ones are using it to smoke tobacco. We've had the windows open lately because it's been such nice weather. I think the smoking tobacco is playing havoc on my sinuses and causing this head cold to be much worse.

I have had a head cold for a few days now, and it is making me miserable, I have so much pressure in my head.  I too tried sudafed but that didn't work. I try not to take tylenol because I am on Lovenox....  Ive just been trying to tuff it out with the help of a saline nasal spray....  Good luck, Im not sure about theraflu....

When I had my head cold, all i took was tyelnol when I couldn't stand the headache anymore and cough drops. The other meds that I was allowed to take just didn't seem to make a difference, so I didn't take them.

Not sure about Theraflu.

I also did a nasal rinse that helped.  I did it twice a day.  NeilMed sells one a most drug stores.

I hope you feel better soon.  Push those fluids!!!!
