18 weeks Prego! too much vaginal discharge

Hello Ladies,
I am 18 weeks pregnant and my pregnancy has been as normal as it can be.
But lately, i have noticed that I am having a lot of discharge. It's mostly yellow and clear and it does have a weird smell.
I constantly have it all day long like I keep peeing in my underwear.

My doctor keeps telling me it's normal to have discharges during pregancy but as I read more and more online, I get worried. I read that i could be sign of preterm labor

What do you guys think? My next appt is not until mid Sept and that's when my pap and ultrasound is due.
In the meantime I want some peace of mind.

Also I know for a fact that i have a Vaginal yeast infection ( I know the symptoms since i have had it before). My doctor would not give me anything for it cuz it might harm the baby. She said i just have to deal with it.

Any help would be appreciate.

Sammy

Thank you so much. You guys are awesome. Discharge has been better. I do wear a thin liner and change it often. Happy_mommy is right. If I don't change it, it stinks, otherwise discharge doesn't really have any smell.

I normally don't have cotton like discharge but only after sex, I see that my husbands get some on his thingy. He used to it but it grossed me out.
My pap is due in my next appointment and I will push my doctor to give me something for it or I'll just take Monistat.

Thanks again and Good luck to everyone. Eat healthy, Stay Happy and control the mood swings :)

A lot of discharge is definitely normal, I get that too and I'm 20 weeks. But a strong smell might not be. If the discharge is cottage cheese like (sorry if gross) its probably a yeast infection. I had one at 13 weeks and my OB gave me Monistat, its totally safe Category B. And my baby is doing great so far.  Or sometimes pregnant women get bacterial vaginosis which needs to be treated, this would smell kind of fishy (sorry gross again). I'm in the medical field, so unfortunately I see not so great doctors out there, and I wonder why your doctor is telling you there is nothing to treat a yeast infection. Hope all goes well, and don't get too worried. But if you really feel uncomfortable demand to come in, unfortunately we have to be pushy with some doctors to get the right thing done.

we have the same due date and the same name...lol

I think that is normal, sometimes they say a smell isn't normal.  I have vd pretty bad now that im pregnant too.  It doesn't usually smell unless i go somewhere and forget a panty liner and there is a lot, but if i change that normal im usually okay in the smell department, sometimes mine is clear and sometimes a different color my doctors say its nothing to worry about!  I think your fine if you doctors think it is okay.
