early hCG and Progesterone Levels

Hi, today I had my first blood to confirm an at-home pregnancy test and my levels were Prog; 42.9 and hCG; 9358.  I am 4w4d since LMP.  My doctor told me this was good, but I wouldn't mind a bit more info on what exactly this might mean.  I have 2 babes previously (11 and 4) and several miscarriages since babe #2 and never went much into the blood levels and so on - just enjoyed being pregnant.  But in fear of another miscarriage, would like some info if anyone can assist?  Thanks!!

Thanks YogaChick,  since I posted the question yesterday, I've done heaps of reading on it and yeah, it seems kinda high so that's good.  I'm not looking forward to morning sickness which I guess will kick in soon.

Well done for you reaching 5 weeks!  That's great.  Every week that passes makes us all feel a little more confident that we'll meet that new person in January huh?  I've been on Clomid also (was for about 2 years) and all it did was hyper stimulate and give me cysts.  This is my second cycle off ALL the pills and hey presto....

I'm back to the Dr for follow up bloods on Friday, so we'll see how we go then.

Thanks for your response.  Have a great day today (or night I think it is there?)

Hi Macleiory, Congrats on your BFP!

Check out betabase (dot) info for more specifics on hcg numbers... I think your number is really super high which is usually a good thing!  My RE just checked my progesterone and was happy with it at 47 so I'd suspect yours is not much different.  If you're worried, I would just have them keep checking since it's a fairly easy thing to increase with suppositories or PIO if necessary. Good luck & welcome to the forum!
