When I had my first baby, I had 100% the same problem. It took over six tried to get the epidural in for a regular labor, which ended up in an emergency c-section. I ended up having to get a different anesthesiologist to place the epidural. In the end it worked, because if the last try did not work, I was going to opt for 100% natural. So for my second pregnancy I brought this up with my OB who made sure I had the head of anesthesiology in the OR with me for my planned c-section. I am having my third c-section on January 28th, and I have a new OB and am delivering in a different hospital that I am petrified about. It is a good hospital, but new for me. So my new OB wants me to meet with the anesthesiology department before my c-section to make them aware beforehand so there is an action plan in place and I am getting the right care! Good luck, and talk to your OB about your fear!
Well remember I have herniated discs and if you don't you may be okay. The problem I have is that when the discs are inflammed the shot is harder to get into the right spot, and they have to poke around. I am just hoping that the shot goes higher than where my herniated discs are.
Sounds like you've had some bad experiences. Yikes! Poor you.
I had a spinal block with my last C-section and had NO problem at all. No discomfort; nothing. Maybe I was lucky..? I hope not because I think I'll be getting another one in January, and I haven't been at all worried about it, before now!!
Good luck!
