Hello, a big congrats to all of you newly expecting mommy's out there! I am currently 9wks pregnant with my 3rd child after severeal yrs of ttc. In the evening of June 2nd I got severe cramping followed by bleeding and went to the hospital where they took blood test and did a ultrasound. I was told baby was fine but to go home and take it easy. The following night the same thing happened again, so back to the hospital I went. They explained to me that I was experiencing a 'partial' miscarriage, but that baby is fine, my uterus is completely closed and that to go home and stay on physical and mental bedrest. During the ultrasound they found that the two ovarian cyst I have had both doubled in size, one being 4cm and the other 3cm. They did say that they likely were not helping the situation. (A little background..with my 2nd child i also had ovarian cysts that were smaller but started to grow rapidly causing severe abdominal pain and ended up having a laparotomy at 16wks to remove the 11cm and 10cm cysts. But at no time had they ever caused any bleeding). A friend of mine was speaking to a nurse she knows about my situation and she said the bleeding and pain was likely caused solely by the cysts. So my question is, with cysts still relatively small would they cause the bleeding? Is there any way of knowing (tests, ect) the exact cause of the bleeding? IF it were just the cysts I feel I may beable to relax and stop worrying so much about the apparently 50% chance of losing my child, and maybe I can start being excited again and looking forward to future with baby. Any insight or comments would be truly appreciated.
Thank-you.
